I have always wondered how those tires do in the rain. The tread pattern is all over the place. No rhyme or reason to them at all.

With that said, I get asked for them all the time!

I know. They look to me as though they are part slicks and part street high performance. Definitely not an all season tire. I would not drive these things in the rain or snow. Track, yep. Speeding around, yep. I have Alot of different tires to play with and this thread pattern really bothers me.. We will see how they do on the Vegas Drag Strip next Friday.

Hmm, are they really that bad in the rain? There are two good-sized main grooves and the inner/center block seems to have a good quantity of 'flow' for the water to escape.

This is really an odd tread design. I will have to really test these babies. In the snow, definitely no. They are not cheap. That's for sure. The wide ones are for our wide body M3 and those things are like 600 dollars a pop! Thank God for wheel and tire sponsors.

100% agree that tread looks worthless for the mountain roadway snow here. You'll need Blizzak or the likes for that. Have fun and amen about tire sponsorship. Hoosier treated me very well back in the day and still wear my Championship jacket occasionally. Can you imagine what a fresh set of Hoosier softs (25A perhaps) true slick would be like on a Bentley GT?

Hmmmmm........

I am all over it. Will be running to a bunch a tire manufactures for a friendly chat. If you can help me get slicks from Hoosiers, they will be put to the test. Used and abused!

Alas, can't help plus the sheer weight of Bentley.... Hoosier must make something that may work? Am curious, do you plan to just burn right through them or do a proper heat cycle and then let 'em rest for a day, then use?

Which advice can you give? We only want to drag her. We know she is a cow on the course. That will be another project I will have to look into at another time. A nice little track cow. as for now, I am just focusing on lightening her up without removing the luxury, then matched her up with some real horsepower, then we can see how fast she really is. I am wondering a lot these days what she can do on the 1/4 and mile. Top end will be scary cause my model is older, but well taken care of. I will save the top end for a newer one with broken in miles. my basic ECU and exhaust upgrades will do ok. But I wanted another platform built with more HP and I want to time the beast.

Oh, 1/4 mile stuff.... just burn through 'em.

As for advice, Hmmm.... be careful about the nut behind the wheel, it can get too loose and carried away. Know thy talent (yeah, i never listened to that advice either, but they tried LOL).

I will be mindful. How about launch control? Should I brake, rev up to 3 to 4 thousand rpms and just let her rip? I am very skeptical about playing on 22s at a drag strip. My nephews want to run her. We don't Have a set of 20 aluminum monoblocks yet and we need some tough slicks that can handle all this weight, even if she is already lighten. No sense destroying a fine machine and killing my relatives.

Not a clue, 1/4 mile bores me and i once lived near the 'Gatornational'. Don’t get me wrong, am impressed how fast they can make a combustion engine propel a 4-wheeled vehicle down a track, yet prefer road course type racing personally. Circle jerking (NASCAR) also bores me. As a driver, i 'lived' for the late brake zones/corner entry/midcorner-apex/exit.

Above all else, HAVE FUN and enjoy as it is just a car, easily replaced of course yet be safe as YOU can not be so easily replaced. Safety gear IS NOT the place to be cost savings/conscience.

Safety is first and foremost. I am not a drag type neither, Its a good platform for her to start. Making her a skinny cow is a goal one day. Sure hope the gt3 does well next year. As for now, I am just happy she can run over 150mph smoothly while warming, massaging my back and listening to Sade.
