Secondary cat delete only

Hi, I have 2015 Vantage GT and I am considering doing a secondary cat delete with velocity AP kit and keeping the original exhaust. Has anybody done that without changing the exhaust? Did it make the exhaust sound better? Is it worth it? Any negative about doing this? My interest in this is a better sounding exhaust.
thanks and happy new year

I got the OEM GT8 secondary cat delete on my car, you can keep your original parts after the cats. I have velocity AP’s x pipe after the cat delete followed by stock box.

I've done that (Fabspeed X-Pipe) kept my original exhaust and the sound is perfect. No droning on the highway... epic enhancement.

If DIY, make sure to loosen the bolts on the midpipe. You need to push the midpipe back fairly far back to get the cats out. Also, a few of the bolts are PITA. I did it on with my car in a quickjack, around an hour.

yes, so much this... took me a bit longer till I realized I had to loosen the bolts on the midpipe then it was not too difficult getting the old ones off at that point, and don't forget your gasket!

do you recommend a new gasket with the Cat delete? Or if a newer car (2015) ok to use existing?

I have a 2015, and I put in new gaskets just to be safe. If you get yours from Velocity, I would assume he would included them. I brought my GT8 thru scuderia parts and brought new gaskets.

I did exactly what you are talking about the VAP decats on my '11 Vantage. Sounds great, has better throttle response and still sounds like an Aston Martin. Remote valve control is a prereq. The decats can be a bit much when settled in highway driving. Having the option of loud or not is great. With the default valve, I often would try to race the rpm up to the open valve which could be reckless with speed limits. Now I have it open whenever I want!

You'll like the decats. I had a local Monroe muffler franchise install it without issue.

Here's my pre-post secondary cat swap for 200 (they might be 100) cell cats:
