Vantage 4.7 - Brake Pad Numbers

Hi guys,

Can someone confirm the Brembo part number for the brake pads on my Vantage 4.7 with the six piston 'S' spec calipers?

I have the official Aston Martin part number (AD43-2D007-AB) however, what I need is the Brembo part number.

Thanks,

Dave.

Hi again,

I've got option to buy two different Aston Martin pad sets with the following Brembo part numbers:

07.A930.10

Or

07.A9302000

If someone could have a look on the back of a set of pads they've removed from their post My2012 Vantage 4.7 with the six piston Brembo calipers and confirm the numbers, I'd be very grateful.

Thanks,

Dave.

Any particular reason you want stock pads? The stock front 6-pot pads are made by Jurid and resold by Brembo. If you look at pics online you can see Jurid stamped on the pads. Good luck finding any info on them, though. The rears are made by Pagid. You can get performance pads from other manufacturers much cheaper than the Aston pads. Porterfield R4-S is used by some people and there are others. Do a search and you'll find several threads.

As stated above, I recently had option to buy two different Aston Martin pad sets so I'm just number checking. They are genuine Brembo pads likely liberated from Gaydon following the end of the former V8/V12 Vantage production, the pads I'm being offered are showing their Brembo numbers but unfortunately the seller can not confirm the AM part numbers.

Anyway, I can now answer my own question, the AM brake pad set part number AD43-2D007-AB is Brembo part number 107.A930.12.

Inside the box you will find four directional pads, two of each direction, the Brembo part numbers being:
  • 07.A930.12
  • 07.A930.13
Where you see Jurid or Pagid stamped into the pad back plate it will also be followed by numbers, this is because it denotes the friction compound, examples being:
  • JURID 673 GG
  • Pagid HP 306
AM brake pad set part number AD43-2D007-AB (Brembo pad set part number 107.A930.12) use the JURID 673 GG compound, AM used both JURID 673 GG (as standard) and the more performance focused Pagid HP 306 compounds. As an aside you will find Audi ordered the Pagid HP 306 compound from Brembo for the Brembo pads they fitted to their RS4 and other performance models.
.
The Aston Martin pads I ended up buying from the seller use the Pagid HP 306 compound and are marked as follows:
  • 107A9302000
  • 107A9301000
Porterfield like EBC here in the UK are small time aftermarket brake component manufacturers by comparison, I prefer Brembo, Jurid, Pagid ect as they make brake components for large OEM vehicle makers who demand super high standards of quality control and testing the likes of which small aftermarket manufacturers such as Porterfield & EBC could never hope achieve, the R&D budgets for Porterfield & EBC will also be absolutely tiny compared with brake manufacturing leaders such as TDM Friction.

For the record Brembo and TDM Friction are behind 90% of all brake comments supplied to the European car making giants, look for any of TDM Friction's brands such as Textar, Mintex, Pagid ect ect and you will be buying OEM standard brakes.

So to help others looking for front brake pads for their post MY2012 4.7 V8 Vantage that uses the Brembo six piston calipers, the Aston Martin part number for the pad set is AD43-2D007-AB, and the Brembo part number for the exact same set is 107.A930.12.

I have extensively searched for the Brembo part number 107.A930.12 and even the individual pad part numbers 07.A930.12 & 07.A930.12 but other than very expensive AM parts suppliers was unsuccessful, it seems Brembo have yet to release these pads to their Brembo dealer network so you are forced to buy them at the inflated Aston Martin prices.

Here in the UK that means paying £600 for a set of these front pads which is absolute day light robbery if you ask me!

Obviously Aston Martin weren't the only manufacturer to buy the exact same six piston calipers from Brembo and in theory the same calipiper will take the same pad, so knowing the Range Rover L322 with the 4.4 litre TDV8 and 5.0 litre Supercharged V8 petrol engines from VIN AA000001 used the same six piston Brembo calipers I had a look at the Range Rover pads to see if I could use them on my post MY2012 4.7 V8V.

Sadly because the V8 Vantage uses a far larger rotor/disc hat the Aston Martin pads, while identical to the Range Rover pads in every other way, are 10.2mm less deep.

This depth difference is likely to mean the Range Rover pads will foul the V8 Vantage disc hats which is really disappointing because here in the UK I can buy a quality set of Pagid T2113 Range Rover pads for just £30.00, suddenly we are back to a sensible price for a set of brake pads so its a real shame they are 10.2mm too deep!

Anyway, all's well that ends well as I managed to buy a genuine set of Aston Martin DB11 Brembo pads from a seller on eBay for £130.00, the DB11 pads are identical is dimensions to the post MY2012 V8 Vantage pads, the only difference being the DB11 pads use the Pagid HP 306 compound as opposed to the V8 Vantage pads that use the JURID 673 compound. This works out as an upgrade as the the Pagid HP 306 compound is better in my opinion, HP denotes High Performance and we can find the HP 306 compound used by Audi on their high performance RS models.

Here are the DB11 pads I purchased for £130.00, I suspect they may have left Gaydon via the back door in someone's lunch box, right now you can't buy these pads from anywhere else but an official Aston Martin dealer and because of this they'll cost you over £900.00 a set!

I hope the above helps the Aston Martin community?

Obviously we have the option to buy Porterfield AP 1990 pads that use their R4-S compound and from what I've read they work well, but here in the UK they're around £300.00 a set from David Appleby which is still ridiculously expensive for a set of front pads, especially when they're almost identical to Range Rover LR114004 pads and are available in the trusted Pagid brand for just £30.00!!!

The depth difference is small at just 10.2mm deeper so I'd be interested to hear from anyone who's tried a set of the Range Rover LR114004 pads on their post MY2012 V8 Vantage, perhaps they do actually fit?

Regards,

Dave.
