Parts Cross Reference List

Is there a cross-reference list of the Ford, Jaguar, Land Rover, or Volvo parts that fit our cars? If not, I would love to start one. It would have to be model, year, Aston P/N, then the associated other P/N. I think a list like this would be really useful. The question is how to find the replacement parts - there are so many different threads on this forum that it is hard to find all the many parts that people have found to fit.

Sounds like a very worthwhile project to me, but I wouldn't know where to start. Good Luck!

Thanks for doing this!

FWIW, I have found lots of the smaller bits/internals on line and at the local parts store as I have rebuilt/maintained. In general they are easily found by searching for the AM part number, or by searching for the part # found on the physical part. If it's small and only costs 5-10X what it would on a Ford, then it's from a Ford or Jag. If it's 100X then it is a custom AM only part... The smaller the part, the more likely it is from someone's global supply chain - the trick is to keep looking.

I found that this site and the other piston one were great sources as well.

There a few listed in the FAQ but far from a complete list.

there are some threads on piston heads that have some good info, although generally listed on a specific topic.

I would suggest that all our members post info they have obtained through use or experience about non AM parts that work.

When rebuilding my V-12, I found that the connecting rods, plain bearings (mains and rods), valves, pistons, rings, rockers, and every other part associated with valve train (timing chain, gears, seals) all came from Ford. A 2005 Duratec equipped Ford Escape was a good surrogate. Rockauto was my friend.

Well that's a hell of a start. Unfortunately am4884 your skill level is way over my ability. Things I would like cross-referenced are, alternator, starter, ac compressor, fuel pump, suspension parts, etc

If people could add to the thread items that work, associated with model and year, that would be a huge help
