TPMS bypass not working

I have the redpants/aston installations TPMS bypass module for the 4 wire smart-tire systems and it doesn't seem to be working. I thought it was a defective unit I had received but I contacted Aston Installations and they sent me a replacement and I'm still having the same problem.

Should just be plug and play yes? I have a 2007 V8 Vantage with aftermarket wheels (no TPMS). The TPMS was working fine with the stock wheels. I've driven around for a few miles hoping the system would reset itself or something but no dice. The smart tire control module has orange lights that keep blinking with the exception of one light which stays a solid red.

Do I have to manually reset the system using an OBD tool or something? I'm stumped...could I have received 2 faulty units?

Pre 2008 cars you can just disconnect the module and it should go out. 2008 you definitely need the jumper. So try just removing the Smartire module plug in and don't use the jumper.

I have a 2007 Vantage V8 and simply disconnected the TPMS connection that is under the glovebox and tucked it away under there somewhere. I didn't need to do anything else and have since installed two new wheels with no TPMS gizmos on them. No alarms. AFAIK it is only the 2008 and newer models that need the special apparatus to defeat the TPMS.

So, ya, what he said....

Unfortunately sometime in 2007, they transitioned from the 3 wire smart tire system to the 4 wire. I have the latter and I'm afraid simply unplugging it is not an option (I've tried).

How did you buy it? Not on Redpants website. Also tried emailing redpants to no avail. And the astonsinstallations website didn't have a way to add to cart.

I would be happy to test the connector for you on my 2008 db9 to see if it's not a connector issue

I bought it direct from Aston Instalations. I'm fairly confident that redpants also sources/dropships them from Aston Installations as well (if you try and purchase from redpants, it will show only DHL shipping option from the UK)
https://astoninstallations.com/product/tpms-defeat/

I got a response from Aston Installation's customer support, and they verified/tested the 2nd unit before shipping out, there might be something wrong with my wiring harness and/or smart tire module...needs further investigation.

If you connect 3 of the 4 wires together it will eliminate the module and not show the tire warning. 1 wire is power to the tire module (Red/blue) battery voltage. Leave this one alone. 2 wires are for messages, 1 check tires and the other tire fault message. Connect to the black wire (ground) and your done. Or I could do it for you for a fee.....kidding

Thanks, appreciate the help. I'm afraid electrical is not my strongest suit, are you saying I should short the connections from the wiring harness and simply leave the smart tire module unplugged?

I'm not suggesting, but that's how it works. Since you have the defeat plug you can make sure the pins are in the correct place. Which should be 3-pins and the 1 spot where the Blue wire with the Red stripe goes.

issue resolved. turns out on my 2007 even with 4 wire system, simply unplugging the smart tire module clears the fault. I'm almost positive I've tried before and it didn't work....

Please PM me if anyone needs a TPMS bypass module, I've got two of them.

I need one. My 2011 Vantage recently arrived in Honolulu from the California dealership with the tire warning icon showing and the message reading tire fault. I've carefully put in a measured 36 psi all around into cold tires, and the message and icon are still there. There is no dealership here I can take it to, so I want to try this TPMS Defeat cable. Please text me at 808-232-16 three zero. Tom

You more than likely will need new sensors, 2011 MY uses the newer BERU system and they usually last about 8 years in service. There is no defeat or bypass for the system. Find a decent tire shop that knows or source them yourself. I have used TPMS () com as a good resource.

Thanks for the reply, but I should have mentioned that the Aston dealership in California DID replace all four tire sensors with new ones before they shipped it out here. However, when I picked up the car at the port last week, the tire icon was on and the tire fault message was showing in the screen. Huh? It's not exactly how you would want your dream car to arrive. All the led's on the little sensor under the glove box are blinking yellow, so something is screwed up. What the hell do I do now? Since I can't take it to the dealership 2,500 miles away, I think the best solution for me is this TPMS Defeat wiring harness.

Vantage V12. Dealership in Los Angeles----I don't want to diss them online because everything has gone fine except for this TPMS issue.
