A common problem. The battery in the alarm (so that the alarm can go off when the battery cable is cut as your car is being stolen) has aged and doesn't hold a charge. When your battery died, the battery died in the alarm. It will eventually charge if the battery charges. You can reset it by disconnecting the cable to it (under the driver rear fender well) or by disconnecting the battery of the car and then reconnecting it. My alarm fault went away after I replaced my ancient battery.

The unit on my 2006 DB9 had a volvo part # that I found on Aliexpress for $80 bucks or so. I never installed it as the alarm fault disappeared on it's on.

As always, YMMV,
Larry

Thanks Larry, will look at that over the weekend and will also check out Aliexpress. So we got Volvo parts, we got Ford parts, any body else have a hand in the AM assembly? Hopefully no Yogo parts. Thanks again and be safe

I have a Foxwell and it has been a very helpful tool. Make sure you download the latest program for your vehicle.
I recently had the message for the alarm. Fortunately it went away without using the foxwell and hasn't returned. Replacing the volvo unit is a relative simple fix. Appox $150 for an old unit with new batteries installed or about $80 with a used unit as AM4884 said. If your really handy you can replace the batteries in your old unit for about $45.

If I disconnect the power cable at the battery, will i have to reset the seats and windows and anything else like that?

Just wondering is the same alarm module setup up in the 2006 DB9 and the 2009 DBS?

I believe the 2006 is the same not sure about the 09. Ford was a big influence in the 06 and 07 time period.
As far as disconnecting the battery. Parts of the discussion were about 3 different batteries, 12Volt car battery, the battery in the key fob and the batteries in the alarm module. I wouldn't think disconnecting the 12V car battery would clear the issue as the alarm batteries would be without a charge from the cars 12v system.

Worth pulling the fender liner and looking at it. The Volvo part numbers were on it. I got a new one from Aliexpress for 80 bucks so I didnt bother to replace batteries. But the warning light went out on its own once it had trickle charged the battery in the old unit.
