Fault codes

Hey everybody,

I've done some research on here & elsewhere over the past few days and haven't been able to find anybody that's pulled the same fault codes simultaneously. I'm assuming its the battery, but wanted to consult with you guys before I spend a couple hundred bucks on a new battery & have that not be the problem.

In my Durametric I pulled the following codes:

2025
1314 in 3 sections
1317
P0700 (I know just a signal, not true fault code)
1299
459 (I know this is PCM because I replaced it)

When I cold start the car, everything works great. No CEL, no codes, nothing. Car runs great no matter how long, far, or hard I drive it. If I turn the car off & then try to restart, no ignition. All electronics work, but no turnover. I have to get out, lock, unlock, etc a few times and after a few tries it starts up, but showing CEL, All gears in dash are lit, so it's like I'm in P-R-N-D at the same time.

FYI I have recently replaced my key due to the immobilizer and just did an Upsolute tune about a month ago.

Please help! Haha thanks in advance for any clarity all of you can shed on this matter.

Shane

Given the fact that you get it to run after locking /unlocking, it sounds like you have an issue with whoever programmed your new key. I doubt an ECU will have effect...unless your battery died on you in the middle of the upload. Or something to that effect.

Why not delete the codes and try to use your second key?

Unfortunately the truck didn't come with a 2nd key but I bought one from Sunset a while back, so when the immobilizer went out I literally punched it with my middle knuckle in anger and voila, it started, so I drove straight to the dealer to get the new one programmed. Truck ran great until about 2 weeks ago, ECU tune was about a month ago. Never threw a code before now.
All of these codes say "not" causing a DTC light and no signal/communication so I'm assuming something is just shorted out and not the battery. Going to check all of my fuses after work today and see if any are blown in there and will post an update later tonight.

Let us know how it goes... it you haven't already, you should record your current errors and then clear the codes and try it again. If the codes reappear, you might want to pull a battery cable for 10 minutes for a complete reset (after re-clearing the codes).

I reset the codes and all popped back up, I really didn't think about resetting the battery though, will do that while checking fuses. I guess it's time to finally use the triple square set I just bought!

Yep...size 10 triple square I believe. On the top of my head, I can think of 3 three items that use triple square bits on the Cayenne - (1) seat bolts (2) drive shaft (3) brake caliper knuckle

I believe the triple square design was made for bolts that require a high torque spec, with more contact area, to prevent over-camming (stripping).

So I went on a long road trip to Ohio for my family reunion over the weekend, and it seems like the battery may have just needed to run for an extended period of time. The only driving I do is maybe 5 miles round trip to the grocery store or softball, etc. Error codes haven't popped back up, CEL isn't lit, hoping that's all the problem was. If anything else pops up in the near future, I'll definitely follow up on this thread!

Great news! If just all errors were that easy to resolve. Good luck.
