One snafu I am experiencing is nowhere on the bottle do I find the term OAT........What am I missing? After some research there seems to be a lot of confusion about the many different types. I got more of an education than I really wanted. After reading between the lines I have come to the conclusion Havoline XLC with the orange banner on the front is OAT. Going with that.

"Non-glycol" can be kind of confusing because it obviously contains ethylene/proplyene glycol like all anti-freeze does.

If you look at the ingredients of Chevron XLC or Havoline XLC, you'll notice it's just 5% 2-ethylhexanoate of some form (sodium salt, acid, potassium salt), which is the "OAT" part, and ethylene glycol + diethylene glycol. Most generic orange "extended life" coolants have the exact same ingredients in the exact same proportions AFAIK.

IIRC, Prestone, Zerex, and Supertech extended life are all basically the same as Havoline too, but you might as well just order Havoline online, since the price is pretty similar (I'm seeing 15 bucks for a gallon of concentrate).

That's what I needed to know to understand how this works. I'm the **** type that is always asking why things are the way they are. Thanks for the education!

I used to use Motul Inugel coolant but found it hard to find this year when I did my coolant flush so went with Havoline Delo XLC 50/50. Been working great.
