Auto Blip
Auto Blip
Got the Auto Blip from Velocity AP. Curious if anyone else has already installed it. Looks simple enough, however I can not find a wiring diagram to identify which wires to tap into on the brake, clutch and throttle pedal. Hoping someone here has already figured it out. If not I will meter it out tomorrow and post results.
VAP has an auto rev-matching mod for manual cars? I may have to look into that... it's one of the things I really liked about the C7 Corvette I test drove. Useful for everyday driving.
There is a pdf of the Vantage shop manual floating around here on the forum. All the wiring diagrams are in there. They start at page 760, if I remember correctly.

Thanks, I'll search for it. The Autoblip on VAP looks like the generic version. Perhaps the cables are cut to length? Simple install once you map out the wires. I'll update this weekend.
It would be good because heel toe shifting is really hard in the Vantage since throttle response is so poor. It's one of my major complaints when trying to push through corners

Can't find a sprint booster

yea not sure if I wanna be guinea pig for something controls something as important as throttle inputs. I think I read of others doing it on older BMWs too, never considered it necessary or worth the risk IMO
This feature in available on the current 6 speed Mustangs. I am with this poster, I would not add this feature to any car not designed for it.
Driven a few race cars that have them installed.
People either love them or hate them, I think it depends on your Heel/Toe ego
its very simple in its function and I'm sure would work fine on the AM's
but without a direct wiring diagram it could be tedious for sure.

I have large feet and a bad knee, 3 pedals in the Vantage is tough to heel toe for me with so little room in the foot well. Not a skill issue, been racing SCCA for 25 years, though not an expert.
I like to tinker. Just one more mod to play with. Most of my choices don't agree with the purist, which is okay, I can respect their point of view.
Hoping to finally get out installed this weekend and see how it works with the pops and burbbles VAP added. Today I decided to do a full tune up since I'm hitting 40k miles. Swapped spark plugs, coils, O2 sensors, MAF sensors and rear end gear oil. Been a busy morning. Cleaning the throttle body now.

wondering if this gizmo will somehow wring some decent throttle response out of the 8v8 such as to effect a useful blip. if so i would be curious as to how it does it, because i sure as hell can't.
...i can only assume they intentionally made it unresponsive, but for the life of me, can't understand why.

Sounds like you need our ECU Tuning! And a lightweight clutch/flywheel kit.

It's very adjustable. Also I have the ECU tune and lightened flywheel/dual disc clutch from VAP.

This product is not to remove throttle delay, it's designed to auto blip the throttle while braking...avoiding the need to heel/toe.
