ThinkDiag key programming post 2008
Hi all,
I've done a search and don't see anything that mentions using the ThinkDiag tool to program a key fob/ECU/Crystal Key for a V8V newer than 2008.
I've so far had no luck at all programming the "fob" door lock/trunk pop side of my new key using the ThinkDiag and I'm wondering if anyone else has had any success.
Doing the "put in one already programmed key, put in another already programmed key, put in the new key to program it' stuff worked fine for starting the car. But I've been completely unsuccessful at getting the buttons on the ECU to work.
There seems to be some confusion on the FB groups about whether this is possible on a 2009+ key using the ThinkDiag, so I'm wondering if anyone on here has been successful.
Thanks!

I read before that without the KeyCode on the box that the key came in it wasn't possible to programmed. What I did is use a valet (plastic key) internal that was working with my car and transplanted it in the Crystal Key.
With two original AM keys, a third can be programmed using the Ford method. For the remote control, you need the codes supplied with the new remote control, otherwise impossible. Thinkdiag allows you to program the "key fob" of all Vantage from 2006 to 2019. After handling the Ford keys, go to the powertrain ECU to erase the fault codes then change the socket body and program the remote control.I have done it.
I have the codes for my new key but I've not yet been successful in programming the "fob" side of them using the ThinkDiag. I just get error after error.
My experience is that their software for iOS is extremely buggy and I haven't been able to program the door unlocking or any of the buttons at all, so I'm hoping that someone has had success so that I'll have hope to eventually get there too...

THIS!!!
I went to Wal-Mart, bought their cheapest Android tablet, side-loaded the ThinkDiag+ APK onto it, and programmed my key in 5 minutes.
I'm going to post a review of my experiences with the Foxwell and ThinkDiag tools so that people know better what to expect.
After pulling my hair out with the ThinkDiag on iOS, I was about to throw it in the trash. Not thrilled that I had to spend another $70 on a cheap tablet to get it to work, but still thrilled that I saved about $200 from having the dealer program my key...
