Cracking Taillights

Hello All,

My tail lights are starting to have minor cracks in them. See pictures. Not sure why or how this is happening. It is happening on both sides. Anyone experienced this or know the cause? 2011 V12 Vantage.

How long have they been installed? They could be over tightened as the cracks are in the same place on both lights? I would consider a clear thin super glue type substance (maybe some one has a suggestion of what to use sparingly) that will keep water out and stop the crack from spreading! You might need to remove the lights to apply so that the glue doesn't run on the light surface, or use plenty of blue painters tape to cover surfaces. If the fasteners are over tightened I'd back them off 1/2 turn. Sorry your having the issue!!

There are three adjustable bolts behind each light, they need to be adjusted then tightened, if someone didn't adjust them first, then tightening the bolts will put some bending force on the lights and something will break.

Never seen that before - I'd guess MichaelD is right - someone did not know what they were doing when reinstalling them probably to deal with moisture getting in.

Yes, I think the overtightening theory is probably correct. Thank you everyone for the input. So now the question is, how do you know what the correct adjustment is?

I removed mine before, and it was the biggest pain in the a** to align properly. Never seen tail lights with so much slop/play/adjustment in the in my life. Just a shame Aston never corrected them. There are posts on here how to do it, I never saw before I did mine. Unfortunately from those cracks, if it were mine I would just leave them until I bit the bullet for new ones.

Does anyone have a link to the adjustment posts? Please!
