I believe my alarm sounder battery is dead. My car doesn't make a peep when you set the alarm off, and I have a persistent "Alarm System Service Required" error I have to clear every startup.
I believe it's the sounder or at least that's where I'm starting with the silly non-serviceable battery.
Is anyone aware of which part numbers or new superseded parts there are to replace it? Can you use a high spec with tilt on a low spec car? Etc.. just looking for some guidance from folks who have already dealt with this. The earlier model year part is more expensive, and I somewhat worry about NOS batteries already being dead from sitting on the shelf.
Is there a way to just bypass the alarm all together to avoid these issues? My car lives a supremely sheltered life. As long as the doors lock I'm content.

You have already bypassed it. You can't fit a high in a low or vice versa. There will still be a fault message. Easiest thing is to remove yours and match numbers. Most of the time it's marked in paint with a L on the case. No mark = high spec. Although it may have been changed as life is 8-years or so.
I put this in my 06 v8 vantage low spec alarm. The battery in the original had leaked and damaged the pcb board completely. I don’t remember where I bought it.

I replaced my VARTA battery last year for $10 and a couple of hours of time. Some soldering involved as it wasn't a direct replacement battery. All Good!
