2006 Aston Martin V8 Vantage alarm system
2006 Aston Martin V8 Vantage alarm system
I just started seeing the "Alarm System needs servicing" warning on my 2006 V8 Vantage. It seemed intermittent at first and I can cancel it with the "read" button. I replaced the key fob batteries and, apart from the warning light on the instrument cluster, the car locks/unlocks and sounds the warning horn okay. But given the age of my car, I'm guessing the alarm assembly battery is probably bad and I'll need to either replace the battery or the whole assembly. My car is equipped with the upgraded security inclination type. I understand the assembly is back near the boot on the left side of the car.
Question 1: Is there a simple fix to just replace the battery?
Question 2: If not, will the Volvo part YWK 500060 K9 P1 Siren Control Module work or do I have to purchase the OEM part 4G-43-37-10246?
Question 3: Is this a labour intensive operation at the dealership or can it be done DIY or at an independent shop?
Any advise or help will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Your car uses the same alarm as the DB9.

Hi, There is a long but good thread about alarms and how to fix or replace it. I replaced the battery in my alarm sounder for about $10 and a couple of hours of tinkering. No issues since.
Good luck.
