Help. New vantage screen dead
Help. New vantage screen dead
Dealer delivered my new roadster. The car has 15 miles on it. First ride today…..no radio,no info on screen. Camera appears on screen but that’s it. I only have the turn dial…no touch pad.
never had this happen on my 22020. Any advice? Two hours from nearest dealer.

I had this on my 2019. Quite a lot of shop time at the dealer. Case involved an escalation to AM regional tech. Honestly, I am not convinced it is repaired. Less than 1000 miles after I got the car back, it occurred again for part of one day. Every thing was good until a week ago when the car gave me e-Diff and suspension fault errors. Car went to dealer and they found nothing. Tested the battery which registered 91%. However I agreed to pony up and let them sell me a new battery to take that variable off the table. In resolving the dead screen they replaced the center stack and the control wheel. But a week later the screen died again. The car went back and supposedly a software reflash corrected the issue. Bottom line, I am not convinced my gremlins are gone. I keep a log of all the cars behaviors. Look forward to following your experience. My situation is documented in another thread.
Thanks but I’m not encouraged by your experience. You would have thought after all the years that the my18 has been in production these problems would have been eliminated on a 200k car.
This should not be happening on a car that costs this much. How can Ford make a car that does not have these kind of problems. And the MB electrics are well sorted by now. This is not right and makes me very think twice about a new gen Vantage.
Can you call the dealer and ask them to do a video call from your phone to try to do a quick check before driving the 2 hours? You should also ask them if they'd be willing to come pick up your car for you and tow it to the dealership at their expense since you just bought this expensive new car and they obviously didn't do their pre-delivery inspection

If you're referring to your infotainment screen, it's probably just a low battery. Happened to me once on my new 2023, relatively soon after taking delivery. I made it a point to keep the trickle charger on it if being parked/stored for more than two weeks, and I've never had the problem again. Unfortunately, with all the new tech on newer cars, they rely too much on batteries. Try the Aston Martin battery maintainer. It simply attaches to the rear of the vehicle, just above the license plate, via magnet.
Spoke to the service folks at Long Island Sports Cars where I acquired the new car. They shipped it to St. Augustine,Fl where I live. I’m 2 hours away from the closest dealer in Orlando. They asked about the power button which I had already tried to no avail. I asked them about fuse 10A in fuze-box B which is linked,to the
screen. They said they had never seen one blow but I will check it tomorrow. I have had the car on my Ctech trickle charger since the day it was delivered. They suggested I go for a long ride to “wake it up”. They claimed it was working fine during the PDI prior to loading it on the carrier truck.

Orlando has one of the best service reputations. It that stinks you have the issue but their techs are supposed to be better than most. You said the car is new and the screen died in first 15 miles. Have you been driving the car since? My screen was sporadic at first before it died hard. Please be sure to post the resolution or that all is back to normal.

This one caught me when I first bought my Vantage, I didn't even realize that I had pressed the volume scroll wheel down, went to AM service and sure enough . . . Pressed the scroll wheel again and everything fired back up. If I remember correctly, the back up camera did work as well. I suggest trying the volume wheel (not sure if it will work on the steering wheel as well), good luck! KH
