I have a 2007 Aston Martin DB9 that I bought in Canada. It was originally imported to the US, and was converted to metric when it was in Canada. I need to change the odometer back to US (miles). What is involved? Thanks for any guidance.
Are you sure the odometer is in km and not just the speedometer? I had a 2006 DB9 imported from the US to Canada and the odo was always in miles.
Press the Read button (next to the T1 / T2 button) and the button on the end of the left stalk together, and hold for 3 seconds to switch the speedo between miles & km.
Only other change for Canada is daytime running lights. I think the dealer has to do that.
I just had a 2014 V8V Canadian car brought in and converted to US. Gauge cluster had to be changed. Stalk + read button action will change all the info over to US except the readout of the center console radio/temperature screen, which required an AMDS tool to convert.
The change of the speedomoter face is the only thing different between the US and Metric gauge clusters. Whichever one you choose has the predominant numbers larger and on the outer side of the gauge face. Attached is a picture of the US gauge face. Hope that is what you were wanting to see.
GWP, did you ever get this issue with the odometer resolved? I'm in the same boat.....V8 Vantage sold in U.S. and then relocated to Canada. Now, odometer reads kilometers and headlights always on.
To pass safety check in Canada and be registered you need Daytime Running Lights and the Vantage didn't come equip with some so the dealership using the AMDS change the lights to be always on as soon as the car is started. That could be reverted by someone with AMDS as it is only software controlled
handyman2009, thanks for your reply.
Have you heard anything about the odometer getting the odometer to read out miles instead of kilometers? I heard some horror story that the display unit has to be replaced or reprogrammed by the factory......
you can change the digital display to be in Miles or Kilometers but if you want the dials and odometer to be in miles you will have to replace the full instrument cluster and get it reprogramed with someone who has a AMDS (usually dealership).

Yes, changed out the instrument cluster so mph info was prominent then got into the owners manual for the info to convert the digital readout. Fairly simple procedure.
Thanks for your reply. It appears that when the Vantage owner moved back Canada, he had to get it 'federalized' to Canadian vehicle standards. As far I as know, this required the ECU be reprogrammed to have the headlights on at all times and the odometer read distance in kilometers.
Thanks to feedback from of Aston Martin enthusiasts, a AMDS diagnostic tool is required to convert it back to U.S. standards. I spoke to the Chicago area Aston Martin service manager about the conversion process and he knew nothing about it, but will investigate.
