Key Code VS Key Frequency

My car didn't come with a valet key, so I want to add one.
I got a replacement key from AM Bits, which came in as 433 MHz, instead of the 315 MHz we use on this side of the pond.
The dealer told me he can program the start/stop of the car, but not the lock/unlock function, of my 433 MHz key.
I haven't been able to locate a used valet key with its code in the US so I was wondering if I could somehow "mix" a 315 MHz key (without the key code) and a 433 Mhz key (for which I have the key code)?
Is the code embedded in the motherboard and the frequency in the transponder chip? Can they be separated or they work as a pair?
Any help appreciated, thank you!

Take a look at this post. I think this is what you need. The fob is easily programmed with the Thinkdiag. https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ml#post4936150

OK, so you took the chip from your (bad) spare ECU and the fob from a new Volvo key, and matched them together in a new case.
Then used ThinkDiag to program the (Volvo) fob to lock/unlock your Rapide.
And the chip from your bad (Rapide) ECU was having the start/stop function.
Am I understanding correctly?

Correct. The broken “glass” key (ECU) that came with my car was working to start the car, but the remote lock/unlock was not, so I replaced that with the Volvo fob board. You can actually program the Volvo fob as it comes in the package, then just transfer the electronics board. I took the new board and the chip from the broke ECU and put them both in a new ECU case and was done.

So, please correct me if I am wrong, but the plan would be:
- Have the dealer program my 433 MHz key to start/stop the car through AMDS
- Get a 315 MHz Volvo key and swap the 315 MHz fob into my 433 MHz case
- Use ThinkDiag to program the lock/unlock function of the fob

Think of the ECU glass key as having 2 separate parts. The 315/433 MHz apply only to the Volvo fob part (the green board in your picture) to lock/unlock/horn/trunk. 315/433 MHz does not apply to the chip.

From some research I have done, the chip (to start the car, the one with the red arrow in your picture) is a 4D60 that works with the Ford PATS system. Jaguar Tibbe keys use this 4D60 chip as well. In theory, any good locksmith with the right equipment should be able to program the chip (or the dealer), and the fob can be programmed with the Thinkdiag.

Perfect timing! I have an appointment at the dealer tomorrow, I'll have them program the chip.
Thanks for the help.

It worked!
Just did the programing tonight, all went great.
It took longer to set up the "new" Android tablet than program the key
I can now put away my crystal key and use the valet key.
Thanks again for all the help!

Correct, I used the ThinkDiag software for the lock/unlock feature. Took a couple minutes.
