Orlando charged me $350 ( I think) on my 07 about 4 years ago, and quoted me $600 on my 06 recently, but in fairness my airbag panel is rippling and detached from the panel (temperature dependent) and the upper panel would also need to be done due to the shrinkage issue. The 07 repair did not quite match perfectly with the hide, and the corner where the uppermost panel is nearest the door was folded kind of strangely in a ''once you see it you can't unsee it'' sort of way, but the color was spot on. Unless you order the leather from Bridge of Weir, you aren't likely to get a perfect match in my experience, but for a daily driver, it was fine and far less conspicuous.
Marmot: After the recession I bought a 2009 32K mile V8 Vantage from Newport Beach Aston Martin, a very pleasant experience. While the leather overall was good, the typical Sahara Tan seat bolster wear bothered me enough to consider a redo of the seats. I had an auto custom interior shop (Rick's in Golden Valley, MN) that tried to convince me that Bridge of Weir would not match color (because of aging), and I'd be better off with their source that could match exactly with leather that would wear better, with a cost difference (less but not much less). The seats came out great (see picture), but after about 2 months the color tone started changing to the point it was noticeable, they became more orange tone. Rick's agreed to redo the seats in Bridge of Weir and then closed shop a few days after they said they would redo the seats. This was pretty upsetting, but I ended up trading the 09 for a 15 V8GT shortly afterwards. That 09 was bought by Polaris Industries as a test vehicle for the development of the Slingshot that used the same transaxle, and was eventually put into a barn with some damage. I saw that a young man bought it to fix the damage and lost track of the car. If you ever see a silver with tan interior V8 Vantage with the quilting pattern of the 2014 Vanquish, that's the car! The lesson was - try to keep the Bridge of Weir leather if possible.
I have certainly realized that, even with the black interiors I have. I am eventually going to get the two panels done, probably before summer is over, and hopefully I can get the right hide for it. That quilting looks amazing in the Vantage! I have to say though, that after riding shotgun in a friends newish Silverado, I would do terrible things to have the actively vented/AC perforated seats in my own Vantage. Now that's living, especially in Florida.
