I got a 40 in 25 in a small town in New Mexico, no points, just added money to their little town coffer.

It's pretty hard to keep a car at 25, never mind 20 on a two lane road.

Was that a speed camera? They should be outlawed. So should ridiculous 20 mph speed zones.

Yes, speed cameras. They're mounted all over the place on that road in Pawtucket, RI.

I can see why some cars have ASL. Next time, I'll go a different way to avoid that road. "I can't drive 20" doesn't have that same melody to it as 55.

Do they capture you license plate #? I have seen people put some sort of plastic cover over their plate, so the cameras can't read them.

Yes, the license plate was captured perfectly in tranche of images captured. I don't try to obfuscate my license plate.

I don't either, but I believe in CA the law requires a city to post when cameras are in use. Thankfully I don't see them in use to often.

There were signs all over the place saying video surveillance and the like. I was in violation, I am not denying that. 20 mph speed limit is absurd.

Like 5 years ago I got pulled over in the Rapide. I was doing 52 in a 30. Police office asked me, "didn't see you me?" I said something like, "No, I am doing 50+ and need to concentrate." Luckily, I had been issued a warning.

Since it is a RI ticket...if you have had no moving violations in the last three years, you can cite you're good driving record and it will be dismissed.
Of course you have to contest it and appear in court!
Thanks,
JH

You mean spend $40 in gas to dispute a $50 ticket?

I've had a few warnings in the Rapide along with one actual speed ticket. I was asked each time why I did not have the required front plate. I say something on lines of "it looks like crap."

Perhaps my straightforward and honest response has garnered some benevolence? I never BS law enforcement.

No doubt, they love Aston's, everyone does. I have never ran a front plate only any of my vehicles, even though it's the law, and never been hassled.

The only tickets I have ever got for no front plate was when it was parked in front a town hall metered spot. I haven't run a front plate in 20+ years. I do on my wife's cars. Don't want to hear it she got a ticket.
