Hi gang, my Bentley conti GT is sold and I'm looking to buy a DB9 Volante. The trouble is the roof is detaching from the rear window at the top in the middle... Rang two soft top 'specialists' and it was "new roof mate".
What is the consensus: DIY-able? Find a good trimer to repair? New roof?
Some old posts on here suggest repair is possible (any UK recommendations?), one mentioned a cable attachment screw comes lose being part of the cause (any pics?). I've had a look at the AM workshop manual but can't make much sense of it to be honest.
Thanks in advance
Tim
That separation looks very similar to what I experienced on my 2009 DB9 years ago. I may be one of the contributors to an old post that you saw.
In my case while the car was at my dealer for annual maintenance, they took the car to an upholstery shop who repaired it for just a few hundred (US) dollars. I think they just re-glued it and called it done. This was probably a decade ago and it’s still holding fine now.
Thank you for the info, very helpful. I’ve tried three places in the uk so far (including main dealer) and none of them want to repair it. Will keep looking…
