Money issues aside. Nissan GTR or Audi R8?
The R8 is gorgeous and has that Ferrari and Lambo look.
The problem for me is that it looks the part but can not play the part. Meaning it is not sufficiently fast. With those looks you will be tested out there everytime.
The GT3 spanked it. When it comes with the V10 or V12 or whatever they decide then it will be game over. You can also drop $30K and get the MTM supercharger.
The GTR is much faster but to me it looks like a brick with wheels.
Cheers, GT3Ranger

That is my only gripe about the car. It is underpowered. When the V10 drops I agree it is game over.

FYI, I have a deposit on a R8 (V8) with the option to move it to the (V10), but wanted to see people's opinions. The GTR has been getting amazing reviews and man would you save a bit of 'cheddar'

i'm happy with mine. people are freaking out when they see it especially when the LEDs are working(yeah i said it before Audi is all about lights...
). i sold the GT3 for it. frankly the thing has better low-end torque Than GT3 & lot easier to manage in town. just fits my need better i guess.
Michael,
No doubt the GTR is an awesome car. i have my respect for it. however, the way i look at it is they're all toys. for me to own a GTR means i'll need other toys in the garage. if just one car then it's not gonna cut it. i'm done being the fastest punk out there. getting old, which class is more important now.

the power is user-friendly around town. the V10 will be sick but let's be realistic with the price. at that price will u buy a Audi or Lambo?

Alot of people are saying the same thing about how the power is very usable and perfectly balances the chassis. More power might disrupt the balance. Good point about the Lambo versus Audi pricing however I think the pricing will be inline with the 997 Turbo which is still a ways off a Lambo.

a R-tronic loaded V8 is more than 140k. so i guess 25k more at least?
joke aside if under the same condition a different options u have in the question. let's say the new M3 or GTR, i think i'd go for the M3. not sure why. i think ur faster Sti reasoning nailed it.
that's under the 1 car condition though. just like if u ask me if i can have 1 car only, 997 Turbo or R8, i would most likely go for the Turbo.

no. more factory power is always good. it'll just be off-balance with the price, not the chassis.

I can't believe they want 10K for R-Tronic. Insane. Yeah from what I hear it will be 30K premium for V10. For I was thinking about 150K for manual mid-loaded configuration. In regards to the M3 / GTR situation I think I'm on the same page.
On a side note how do you like your R8. Pros, Cons? I know you've owned a variety of cars so maybe you can put it into better perspective. I can't get the R8 design off my mind, but 100K is 100K no matter how you spin it.
