I have. Didn't notice much difference, maybe a bit more sound. But I like the piece of mind that the valve won't ever be stuck in the closed position.

Most companies that have tried making an intake gave up because they couldn't get it to make power. I doubt the Gruppe M is any different, it looks nice but for the cost I'll skip it.

Agree on the cost ... apparently you really need to map the car to stop it going lean at the top end. Also as ever, there is the debate on if the MAF gets any oil on it.

On the valve point, I can only guess what it does ... I have heard it opens at speed and only assume to grab more air ... apparently from near the fog light .... It maybe due to EU noise drive by figures ... but who knows.

I might take my airbox out just to see what's in it ..

Theories so far are that the flap are for sound control, but at 5500rpm the engine requires more air so the flap supposedly opens then. There have been some cases where people have dynoed low and the dyno plot didn't show the torque boost that should occur at 5500rpm. Some say this could be because the flap didn't open, so removing the flap could take care of this problem. No one has proven any of this, its just speculation as far as I can tell.

I totally agree with the discussion about the air-intakes. No aftermarket company has shown power gains.
The Gruppe M intakes do not yield any hp gains and for $2,500 or more, no thanks.
I had the Gruppe M intakes on my M5 and they made zero hp. They looked pretty but that was it. They had to removed them after I installed the nitrous system.
I wouldn't expect too many, if any, products for this car from tuners. MTM seems to be the main one but who can touch their prices.

Cheers, GT3Ranger

I still, might buy the GruppeM for looks, it is not so expensive for me due to the £ /Yen

The big problem with the RS4 is to make more power, but the S/C
from MTM is something like £30k( I kid you not) and has not been released.

Exhaust wise, not keen on the Miltek, Like the Tubi, but expensive for just a rear box .. Like Fabspeed quality, but they have not made one, which leaves GMB and magnaflow ...
