Roman's Track Day with the SC R8
Roman's Track Day with the SC R8
Ran into Roman (gigharbor1) at the Oregon Raceway Park yesterday. His car was smoking very badly after the first session. Turns out he was storing tools down by his exhaust and they were melting. Quick use of some meat tongues and they were extracted. Poor screwdriver had seen better days ...

Dude.
Seriously, thanks for posting, Norm. I don't think I will get anyone to fess up on who left the screwdriver in my engine bay, but I will shop it around this week. There are two culprits.
It was good to see you out there, and it's flattering that a guy with a 330WHP Atom can say that my car sounds good.

Yes PJ, I will eventually go to the Dark Side and get a Porsche.
P.S. The SC runs great and it's fun to exercise it on the track. I did an hour at Pacific Raceways today where you can open it up a little more, and the 4th gear torque at full throttle is awesome. I did gain on a 997TT at full throttle down the back straight. I do find myself shifting a lot more though due to the faster spooling. I bet a supercharged RTronic would be great on the track.
I used to have a land rover d90 and seattle land rover basically built my tool kit with all of the tools they left behind!
I also recently picked up a nice snap on ratchet from BMW Seattle that there were kind enough to set on the lower edge of my new front windshield -- I noticed a slight new rattle and pulled over to inspect... it was the ratchet shaking around (under hood height below the wiper) on my new windshield.
I lodged the complaint and said in no way shape or form was I bringing the the ratchet back.
It happens
