Modding the B8 S4

I don't own an s4 right now but just might in the future and I'm just wondering what modifications are available right now. Any ideas will do (suspension, engine, wheels, etc). Also if anyone has an s4 and has pics post em up. Im sure we will all be happy with pictures. Thanks guys

Check Audizine and Audiworld Forums - they both have a B8 S4 forum with tons of mods and pictures...

MTM has a tuning for the B8 S4 that brings it up to 430 hp. Should be alittle higher with an intake, exhaust, etc.

Check it out...

Although MTM makes these claims not one person had dynoed the car to verify the claims. Not to mention the cantronic is $4K from what I have seen. Stick with some of the great tuners here. APR, Stassis, Milltek, Stratmosphere, and my favorite AWE. They are all finalizing stuff like exhaust and ecu flashes.

Here is a link to the AWE exhaust and there are the other vids listed right there in related videos. Great things to come from this car....

The vid gets good around 50 seconds

Another great outside view...

Wow, 430 hp out of just ECU tuning. That is quite impressive but I'm not sure if that is true. I will look into those other tuners as well. A bit off topic but I see that you have a C63 AMG and was wondering how you like it and why you chose it over its competion. It could be my car sometime later but my other choices are the B8 s4, B7 rs4, E90 m3 also. Thanks

335xi with JB3 exhaust and intake, or B8 S4 with the works from MTM, exhaust and intake. Which is faster ?

Yes, all the tuners you listed are just as good if not better on some things. In fact I have Stasis Motorsports Coilovers on my 07' RS4.

And I may not have MTM dyno numbers for you, but how about a real world test...

http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/showthread.php?t=2772702

He even got one run of 4.31 seconds to 60. MTM's doing something right.

I was just on Stasis's site and they looked like they had some great packages for the B8 coming out in spring. If you have one it looks pretty good and at a good price. If I had one it would probably have Bilstein B16s, AWE exhaust, and GIAC. I cant decide on a color though.

Im in the same boat here except my s4 has now been ordered. Stasis has an ecu flash that says its good for 410hp and im sure apr giac and so on are working with the car as we speak. The 3.0t seems to be a very robust platform that has huge tunning potential. It is also under rated from the factor as i remember apr dynoing their race car for a base line and pulling 330hp at the hubs rather than crank. I hoping that things will come to market by summer and from the emails ive sent to companies the spring looks promising for this car

Unfortunately, I'm not as far into purchasing it as you are (I may wait about a year so that I can get a lower price on a pre owned). By the time that I pick one up, if I do, the aftermarket should be huge. If you haven't already listened to the AWE exhaust video that was posted that is a must do. It sounds absolutely great. I was also thinking about the rs4 but due to it not being FI the tuning capabilities are not as big I think. What color did you order yours in?

For other more 'specialised' websites with forums, try www.AudiSRS.com, or www.RS246.com - both specialise S and RS Audis.

Re chip tuning, don't forget REVO - they tend to be one of the few companies which actually deliver the stated horsepower gains. And REVO will continue to refine and develop their maps - even though the B7 RS4 is now long out of production, REVO are still working on that particular map - and speaking from personal experience, REVOs map on a normally aspirated and otherwise standard B7 RS4 is mind-blowing.

For the B8 S4, consider also a Milltek exhaust! But be very cautious of altering the intake - the combined supercharger and charge air coolers (intercoolers) will be MUCH more demanding on ultra-clean air compared to a turbo - you really wouldn't want to wreck the mega-expensive supercharger for the sake of say five extra hp from an intake.
