Anyone have an A3?

Thinking about the 2.0 for the ex-wife. Is the 3.2 worth the extra coin? Looking at the 2.0 DSG with S-Line (sport pkg).

Paul - I bought an A3 for my wife about a year ago. 2.0T, DSG, Sport Pkg and she loves the car more than anything she has ever had. The car is really fun to drive, quick, thrifty and good looking. The 3.2 is more money without a lot more performance and uses a lot more fuel.

Paul,

Hey, M5Kid here from M5board. From what I know about the A3, sounds like the only reason not to get the 2.0T is if you really want the Quattro. Once you can get over the idea of an Audi without it, the turbo motor is the obvious choice. Cheaper, lighter, better gas mileage, and more tuning friendly. I think dealers are willing to deal some on these cars also, there are quite a few sitting. Load it up with DSG, Nav/Bluetooth, S-Line, etc., and get it chipped. Probably decent in the snow with some winter tires/wheels, also.

Travis

I had my eye on an Ibis White 2.0T DSG S-Line as well... A little pricey for a small FWD hatchback, but utterly gorgeous and practical. I went with the FX since I figured I could use a truck/SUV more.

Good luck and post pics when you get it!

I would probably get the 2.0T. My sister has the 3.2 in her A4 and it is a fantastic engine but somewhat dull. The major advantage to it in the A3 is that you can get quattro (albeit a haldex).

The 2.0T is just such a great engine, just flash it and get 260hp/300tq easy. That HAS got to be fun in that car.

If it will stay stock though, I might go with the 3.2. It is very responsive, torquey and has a more "luxury" feel. It depends on what you want from the car.

Safe and fast...if you care the second word
You should get the 2.0...the V6 is not worth it IMO

Thanks for asking- my older brother just bought one, his first German ever. He loves it... traded in the Suburban for it! 2.0 with DSG (I guess they call it S-tronic now) pano roof, nav etc.
Looks like the 2.0 is the way to go...
But I can't get the ex to unload her Passat wagon yet... still working on it...

And why are we buying the "ex" a new car? part of the settlement?
