Bizarre S8 pricing?

I've been looking into leasing an S8 and for a 110K MSRP discounted 3 grand the monthly was $2039 with basically 1st month's payment and MV fees up front. That was for 42 months and 15,000 miles per year. Not so bizarre yet but when I asked the salesman about less miles, getting 7500 per year decreased the payment about $25! That's the craziest thing i've seen in 20 years. Can the car's residual be so similar with half the expected miles after 3.5 years? That's some scary depreciation. There's no way I would get a car like that and turn it in with so few miles. Buying isn't really a great option b/c of the tax/business implications and I don't want to own it anyway. Anyone have another guess besides mine?

Too many soccer moms wanting one and they are driving up the demand. LOL

I dont know as I bought mine outright, has the limited availability have anything to do with it, they are only bringing in 200 for 2007 to the states.
That $25 less for 2500 less miles is kinda stupid though. Audi financial HA, go figure.

You and your soccer mom colleagues, damn you all! It's not 2500 less miles it's 7500 less miles! Per year! For 3.5 years! Total= a car with 52,000 vs. 26250. To me, that would be an expected big difference.

just so you know, on that $2000 a month payment, about $700 is just interest
the residual isnt terrible
but the money factor (interest rate) is extremely high

That was the other variable I thought of. Paying $700 month in interest is flat out crazy on this type of money. I'm assuming he was running through Audi's finance arm. I know he said the residual was about 51% but Audi needs to get with it if they don't offer lowere-mile lease programs.

The first half of that statement I'm good with since I'm still lacing them up both indoors and out. The second part well, let's jus say I'm partial to the eye-talians.

Just to make sure - this would be a beater car for the wife right? No self-respecting man would ever want to be seen in that.

Oh, I think SCRMOM is available!

From the sound of things, I should be able to pick up an off-lease S8 in a few years for not too much $$$. That's a winner in my book...

6 months into my return ten years ago my ACL went and I had it reconstructed. Still going OK but I know I'm going to pay a steep price as I get older. I'm hoping the advances in knee repair keep getting better b/c I'm going to need it. Honestly, they were lucky to win the final in the PK with the way they played in the second half. The French were taking it too them.
