Bizarre S8 pricing?
Bizarre S8 pricing?
I've been looking into leasing an S8 and for a 110K MSRP discounted 3 grand the monthly was $2039 with basically 1st month's payment and MV fees up front. That was for 42 months and 15,000 miles per year. Not so bizarre yet but when I asked the salesman about less miles, getting 7500 per year decreased the payment about $25! That's the craziest thing i've seen in 20 years. Can the car's residual be so similar with half the expected miles after 3.5 years? That's some scary depreciation. There's no way I would get a car like that and turn it in with so few miles. Buying isn't really a great option b/c of the tax/business implications and I don't want to own it anyway. Anyone have another guess besides mine?
Too many soccer moms wanting one and they are driving up the demand. LOL
I dont know as I bought mine outright, has the limited availability have anything to do with it, they are only bringing in 200 for 2007 to the states.
That $25 less for 2500 less miles is kinda stupid though. Audi financial HA, go figure.

the residual isnt terrible
but the money factor (interest rate) is extremely high
