WTB Morgan Aero 8

Looking for a Morgan Aero 8, any year but prefer one with airbags, I prefer the cross eyes. Also any information leading towards someone in the San Diego area who might possibly own one, I would love to sit in one and talk to a owner for a while.

Also still looking for a ratty silver dawn but I have yet to even find one for sale yet.

That is one beautiful car. You have good taste my friend. You can call Dennis of Morgan West in Santa Monica, Ca. His number is 310-998-3311. He has a couple used ones in stock. I believe the "cross-eye" headlights belong to 05 and 06. Good luck!

As for buying new, I don;t like that they straightend the headlights out and the early ones are a little more raw according to online owners.

Yeah I got it from you link, I gave them a call, I am going to swing down in about 2 weeks to take a look. Its on consignment so I have to give them a few days notice before I can see it.

Its pretty much one of the last series 2 built, has all the updates and has a few series 4 things done to it like the upper windshield seal.

Now the price is way higher then I expected but all the past ones that I have seen sell have much higher miles and 1/4-1/2 of the updates. I was hoping to be in the high 70's to mid 80's depending on miles and options. This is well above that. But a new one is running about 150K with 8-12 month wait which is way to long for me.

Because I like it, they are rare, and they have a heart when you drive them. Plus its a Morgan that you can actually tour in.

Get into a modern Ferrari and tell me that you are really the one in control, there are more lambo's in San Diego then there are Morgans in the whole country. Here we modify our 997 because the lack of individuality even in Porsche.

Its completely old world vs. new world and I fall very much into the leather and smell of oil car world then traction control and 100,000 mile boring sameness that permeates almost everything that comes out now.

I still love my 996 even though its gone.

Just an opinion. At least they've abandoned the majority of the wood construction. Nothing like a bit of dry rot to ruin your weekend.
Growing up in the UK the only chance you'd get to see a Morgan was a broken down one. Like TVR, they've got a bit of a reliability history.

Styling-wise, I think it's horrible. The back end defies "surely nothing's worse than that front". Still, if you have an enormous moustache, a penchant for flying goggles and a desire to wear enormous leather gloves up to your elbows, you're golden.

Actually I do, I still have plus a bomber jacket or two when I used to commute in the 356 with no top in the rain.

On a side note I have stopped looking, talking with a few owners and a general lack of fitting in the car has put the kybash on the whole deal. Plus my wife keeps calling it the Liberace mobile when ever I look at them online.

I am going to go to a TT as a daily or keep the cruddy Honda around and get anther 550 Spyder or daytona replica for the weekends.
