Formerly Owned by Doug DeMuro & is the car in his “996 Turbo” Article he wrote. Doug also worked for Porsche at the time.

I purchased the car from the gentlemen Doug refers to in the article. The only reason I’m selling is that I’ve recently decided to purchase an awesome example of the 997 Turbo. I wish I could afford to keep both.
High points of the car: New rear tires, recent oil change, clutch/brakes less than 16k miles. Top of the line sound nav. system (original saved). Laser Jammer system installed. All service done at Porsche dealer. Previous owner and Doug spared no expense to make vehicle mechanically flawless. Looks great & drives great.
This is the email from the previous owner I purchased the car from:
“Purchased in April, 2012. Car had 71,000 miles when purchased. Black exterior and interior, all wheel drive, 18 inch wheels, leather seats, cruise control, power windows, front/side airbags, power sunroof, power mirrors, rear window defroster. I upgraded sound and navigation system to top of the line Kenwood DNX6990HD, which includes Garmin GPS, bluetooth, Sirius/XM radio, CD, rear backup camera. I also added surround sound speakers and a laser speed detection system. I saved the original Porsche Sound/Navigation system, if buyer wants to restore to original.
Mechanically, I have replaced the driver's side window regulator, replaced all brake disks and pads, replaced front differential side seals, and replaced rear tires in 2016 with Bridgestone Potenza tires (original type of tires for vehicle). The previous owner was a Porsche employee and bought the car with about 68,000 miles on it. Previous owner replaced the clutch ($6,000+ service at Porsche dealer), had the front axle rebuilt due to leaking CV boots, repaired a leaking front differential, replaced the ignition lock, and replaced the diverter valves with stronger units than the original rubber parts. All service has been done at certified Porsche dealerships. Car has had more than 2 owners, and was purchased by previous owner from a Florida dealership.
Only flaws in the vehicle are minor cosmetic issues including an inoperable rear spoiler (common problem on 2001), an inoperable windshield washer fluid pump, and some minor interior wear common for a vehicle of its age and mileage. All oil changes have been completed on schedule. Mechanically, the car is completely stock and has never been modified. Clean Carfax, and no accidents. I have original Owner's Manual, floor mats, spare tire, and toolkit. I've moved to DC and no longer have space or time to drive the car. The car is currently garaged in the Atlanta area. Photos are attached. Thank you,”
This is the email I received from the previous owner the morning he had a PPI done at Hennesey Porsche. I can provide the PPI upon request but will put most of the info here in the ad:
“Hi David,
PPI is attached. No surprises. Technician stated in report “vehicle seems to be in pretty good shape.” Engine checked out perfectly. Miscellaneous cosmetic items noted and windshield washer pump, which was inoperable when I purchased. Only item that would need near term attention is front/rear strut bump stops. Dealer estimate about $1,500. If want to come by in morning, either before 9am or after 11am is best so I can make it to church. Thanks,
Kerry”
I’ll provide all receipts I have for the car that is in the binder (Everything back to 2012) but here is a list of almost everything I see that was done to the car and timeline.
2-14-12, 68,149 miles - Clutch slipping diagnosed & Ignition switch replaced = $295.65
2-15-12, 68,169 miles - New Clutch, front axle leak fixed with new CV boots, and diff seals replaced. Horn replaced as well.

5-5-12, 71,500 miles - Door handle spring replaced and spoiler fixed position kit installed = $210.86

4-10-17, 86,041 miles - Oil / Filter change and complete brake system Flush = $455.36
2-17-18, 86,539 miles - PPI done by Jim Ellis Porsche - Everything checked out except a few non essential things which I’ve already handled a few of. I’ll provide pics and / or the PDF of the PPI.
2-20-18, 86,545 miles - I replaced the front Floor Mats with factory Porsche mats. = $122.62
2-22-18, 86,559 miles - I replaced the rear marker light bulb mentioned in the PPI.
3-10-18, 86, 710 miles - I replaced the old front spoiler lip mentioned on the PPI.
The Bad:
1-The paint isn’t perfect but still looks great. Front bumper could use a respray or a new bumper painted without the bumperettes.
2-The spoiler is fixed in one position, but can be moved up or down to suit your taste.
3-The dash leather has tightened up and pulled back from the front a bit. Seen in the video. I’m not sure if someone could treat the leather and re-install it to the normal position or not.
Asking $38,500.00
Videos: I apologize for it not being as clean as it should. The pollen here this time of year is Horrible. The first vid was shot after the second one I’m posting. The pollen was worse that day I shot the long vid.
