As to your question, you can see what @flyc2c did with 4 worm gear hose clamps and a piece of rod, I did the same for my GT, not an issue with the spoiler since.

Good morning from Spain, I just opened the link and saw that I myself asked a question about a year ago. Indeed I followed Johnny Hotspur Gt´s instructions, I gave all the documentation to my mechanic and he fixed it for me. Late but many thanks once again to this forum and its administrator.

 

I was able to fix mine after my local shop failed...and I was looking at a huge potential bill from the dealer...Thank You!
