It seems that I forgot to welcome you to 6speedonline back in June... So, Welcome to 6speedonline !

As to your question, you can see what @flyc2c did with 4 worm gear hose clamps and a piece of rod, I did the same for my GT, not an issue with the spoiler since.

Good morning from Spain, I just opened the link and saw that I myself asked a question about a year ago. Indeed I followed Johnny Hotspur Gt“s instructions, I gave all the documentation to my mechanic and he fixed it for me. Late but many thanks once again to this forum and its administrator.
