Anyone have fabspeed mufflers w/o the x pipe: or any cat back system for that matter?

I opened the exhaust vales on my cgt & it sounds better, but I am looking for a bit more, I purchased fabspeeds cat back system today...I don't want to be able to hear the car from a mile away since I dont think a Bentley should be "loud" like my Lamborghini with exhaust, but definitely want more sound than I getting. Does anyone have a cat back only system on their car without the x pipe? If so, did you notice a dramatic difference in sound? Or Is the x pipe crucial to changing the sound of the car? Thanks all

I am thinking of a route to change the xpipe+downpipe and keep the stock mufflers (w/ valves open).

I have some Fabspeed products. The way I understand the exhaust system is that there are three components to it. First the down tube where the primary cats are, were changed in late 07 so the Fabspeed down pipe will not work on the 08 and later cars. I could not fit that part to my late build 07 GTC. The long horizontal pipe that runs the length of the car i expect you are calling the x-pipe is where the secondary cats are and can be eliminated. I did that and it did not change the sound very much. Lastly I fitted the new resonator muffle system that replaces the last third of the system and that changed the sound quite a bit making it louder and producing some resonating hum at 1300rpm. The ECU upgrade does not change the sound of the car but is where most of the performance gains are found.

Hope that helps you. I too thought the stock Bentley sound was a little soft from such a great 12 cylinder engine.

You are welcome. The Maxflo mufflers are the only real sound changing parts they have for the Bentley.

Run with Fabspeed. They are nice. Need to get rid of you OEM mufflers too. Speaking from a guy that runs a way higher exhaust system than Fabspeed. But, for you. It's actually a great product and trust me . I am not in any way affiliated with them

I read the fabspeed exhausts can cause droning inside the cabin..
I find that my CGT has a fantastic exhaust note when the exhaust valve is in the open position. Turbos normally turn the exhaust into a vacuum cleaner sound, not sure how the CGT manages such a nice rich sound.
My neighbour has a new Maserati that has a loud exhaust note, but my CGT sounds better to my ear.

Our Bentleys do sound better than the Maseratis

There is a drone at 1300rpm under slight to no throttle application that is easy to cure just hit the gas or down a gear. I would have to say the drone is not ideal but the sound at all other rpms are much better to me. Some have compared the sound to an old truck but i do not see that analogy? Remember sound and pleasure is very subjective.
