Mulliner gear **** DIY install

Finally installed the gear **** having sat in the draw for the last few weeks.

Thanks to bentleytech for his expert advice installation was a breeze. Gear in manual mode and using a plastic card place between lower chrome trim gap and push in. Trim drops down and simply pull **** off and replace and pull up trim to lock.

Mulliner **** has a much bigger B button and feels nice and chunky in your hand.

Always been hunting on ebay as they pop up now and again. Finally scored one 200 quid advertised as used as it was siting in draw. Some lite marks but nothing serious but thought leather was black but its a shade of green. Will get it dyed to match, anyone used leatherique dyes?

I called bentley UK as considering to buy new but told prices increased to 700 pounds now! When u feel how lite the **** is one thinks is it really worth it.

remove bentley gear ****

So to summarise' I use a credit card to push in the plastic tabs and the lower aluminium collar drops down. Then pull **** off the central shaft? Is this correct?

Engine off put gearstick in tip mode. Then with a plastic card just wedge it between the bottom of gearknob trim against tip of collar and it should drop down.

Just done the same.

Looks good.

Needed a little more force, with a plastic spatula, rather than credit card.

Thanks.

There's a cheap one on eBay now but seller has cut off locking tabs at bottom to fit his VW. Not too sure if u can replace that part or will lower chrome section stay put. I think once u press the B the **** will lift up.

Maybe a good buy for a DIYer here as its just 70 bucks.

I managed to get hold of one of the Mulliner gear ***** for mine from a friend of a friend and although awkward to remove it did come off in the end and i think one of the classiest upgrades the interior could have. It looks and feels amazing! I know he has a Grey Mulliner and a Black Mulliner left if anyone wants one.
