Boot/trunk

Anyone have trouble with there boot, it wouldn't open on the key or the switch. Opened it with the manual release, can't see anything obvious but it does look like someone has been in there before and not from Bentley!

first thing i would do is check your main battery and starter battery .,does it release from switch with car started. by chance your not using the valet key are you.

Key worked fine last week, it did give a low battery warning so I swapped it out for a new one. Batteries seem fine and doesn't make any difference if it running or not.

Had a look tonight and got it to work once but not again after manual release?

Thanks for the help btw.

Ok so I get it opened on the cable release. I can now get it to work, then it stops and the latch on the boot won't now latch. Any ideas?

Thanks

have you got vag com,and check for faults. when checking the boot it is best to have car running so you get good voltage to the boot electrics, can you try locking and unlocking car with key ,starting car and then use switch in door with the boot laying against the latch.you could possibly have a bad wire in the hinge where the wires pass through.

Nope not yet, on the list to get though!

Could the boot badge have gone wrong, I was looking at the epc and it has the power latching but not the power opening. Do you understand the operation? Very complicated for a latch

the boot badge on early cars used to slide down and get stuck, should have been updated via a psis that was issued for cars.,easy to remove and just have rubber pad without chrome ring and then see what happens.

do you have a picture of the plug and is it on the left hand side . remove the two 10mm nuts for the Bentley emblem and you will see the rubber switch pad,but if you have vcds does it not show you boot switch operation or faults for boot.

See the pics but not sure about that connector, thought you were talking about a different connector that comes apart when some one has been in trunk stuff.
