Since I've invested quite a bit lately to refurbish my car mechanically, I figure I'll keep this beast for the long haul. While the car looks get looks from people, it looks a bit dated so I'm doing (planning) several mods to rejuvenate it.
1. Refinished my headlights (~$600)(Done):
a)Before: it looks somewhat dated
b)After: added 4 angel rings to match factory headlight colour; painted housing to black; polished the interior lens to get rid of tiny burn marks.
I still need to get the exterior lens refinished to get rid of the stone chips. This mod requires your headlight to be opened using heat gun. My biggest concern is how long will the LED strip last due to high heat from the XENON. It will be costly to repair because the front bumper and fender has to come off to reach the light.
2. Purchased black headlight bezel ring (~$250) (so expensive considering they're aftermarket and just simple plastic)(Done):
3. Update front bumper and rear bumpers to Supersports (~$5600 for used front, back, and the three-piece grill + $2000 - $3000 bodyshop)
This option is very expensive so I'm still debating it. I might just get the front bumper and forgo the rear as the difference isn't very big.
4. Black out front grill, trims, and slightly tint rear light.
This one is straight forward and shouldn't cost too much.
5. Wrap the entire car in 3M 1080 Satin Dark Grey ($2500 - $4000):
I might get the front and back SS bumper, forgo the bodyshop and get it wrapped instead. I'm also tempted to get a crazy color like green but I think I'd be tired of a flashy colour on a Bentley very soon.
6. Install a 360 parking camera system
I've bought the Nav-TV unit to get two video input ($$$) and will investigate on installing a 360 system or at bare minimum, a reverse camera.
The installation entails one rear cam, one front cam, two side cam mounted on each side of the mirror (drilling a hole is required).
Unless you have already done it, the 1st rule of making any car look better is to change the wheels.
I did that to my 2004 GT by fitting a set of V8S 20" alloys. Much easier to clean too!
I got the 360 Camera kit today. I hooked up to the TV and everything works.
Here is the kit:
Head Unit:
Four cameras:
Remote:
Four cam view:
Front view:
I'm investigating the possibility of using some wifi/bluetooth enabled relay so I can use my tablet to do certain things such as activate camera system when speed is under 10 km/hr.
Also, I can integrate Flic bluetooth button to toggle between views.
