Any tips on how to remove and install the rear section exhaust?

My Quicksilver exhaust is coming soon so I'm going to attempt to install it myself.

The service manual says I need to remove the rear bumper before I can remove the exhaust tip. Is this correct?

Also, one of the steps is called "check and set the exhaust pre-load on completion of exhaust refit". It seems involve some alignment. What does this step really do?

Any tips?

I managed to remove the vacuum hose and all the bolts.

The exhaust now moves freely but I can't get them out. One end is in the secondary cat pipe and the other end is in the exhaust tip.

Do I need to remove the exhaust tip so I can slide out the exhaust?

Does anyone know what this step refers to when removing the rear bumper?

Finally got the rear bumper and left exhaust off.

Will post some pics and instruction once I'm done.

Seems like none of us have tackled this job Lilo.
Good luck.

Both exhausts are off now. I'm going to hunt for some new nuts and bolts before I install my new exhausts. The old ones are somewhat rusty.

It was really easy to take off the exhaust once the rear bumper and exhaust tips are off.

The bumper retainer pin was also easy to take off once I figured out where it was. The diagram wasn't helpful at all. I'll try to make a detailed instruction with pictures when I'm about to put everything back.

Sorry for late reply
i chopped my mufflers out and ended up doing a home made exahust with a custom x pipe up front and 2 small resonators downstream and no mufflers. Loud as hell when you crack it open but no drone on highway
