Nav system upgrade install

Got the new two disc BMW set for my 2008 CGT. How do I go about taking out the old ones and installing the new to update the maps?

I don't understand 2 discs. Two discs for two locations that you would need to install if going to other locations? My disc states where it can be used. My 2008 GT Speed has one slot for one disc. It is a DVD not a CD. It should be a simple removal and replace. The system will read the new disk if it is applicable.

In glove box, the right unit is the NAV DVD unit. Eject DVD that's in it now and insert new DVD for your area.

Is the BMW DVD set directly compatible? Have a 2006 GT (UK car) and missing the European Continent DVD.. so again, can I buy the BMW DVD, and is it far cheaper? OR an Audi or VW Phaeton one? Where in Europe to get it? Thanks for advice

Hello Lars,
Does your 2006 GT in fact have the DVD NAV drive, I ask because here in the U.S. the 2004- 2006 models came with the CD NAV drive, with the DVD NAV drive starting in the 2007 models.

Ah yes my mistake, 2006 is waaaay old CD technology. Just use Waze on your phone, those old Bentley nav systems are tech roadkill.

Or get a 2010 NAV drive and Head unit like I did to have DVD NAV system, I got a Naim head unit and a DVD NAV drive out a 2010 and it was plug and play into the 2006 wiring harness in my 2005 GT with 2014 engine....
