I'm just trying to get an idea on how this might go for me when I'm ready to pull the trigger on a car at this age. So anyone that financed a late model GT, can you please give some insight on your situation.

IMHO these cars are more toys, so financing can be tricky. Banks might be a bit apprehensive, especially with the very high devaluation over the years/miles. Hopefully you have a rating over 800. Try a few credit unions. What's your credit rating and available credit?

Also remember to have a few grand or more in reserve if something goes amiss mechanically / electrically.

 

Thanks for replying. I'm in the low 7's right now, working on boosting that up more, but not appling for anything till I'm ready to pull on this car next yr. I plan on having atleast $6000 for the car for maintenance cost (been doing my research). I'm putting $10000 down when I do decide to go for it. Right now I a member of 3 credit unions (Navy Federal, Penfed and US Federal Credit union) and Chase.

 

Call all CU banks, see what theyll offer you. Sounds like you're well prepared.

 

USAA will finance them, the interest rate will depend a lot on down payment, term, and credit score. Check their tables online.

 

Said what the heck and did it. Used PenFed credit Union. $46,000 for 60 months at 3.74. Could be worst. I narrowed it down to 4 cars nationwide but the one I really want is $45,000 with 55,000 miles and they won't budge. He rather sell it at an auction in a week then come down a bit. It's been at the dealer going on 100 days. I have a eye on another one also. It's for the same price but 59,000 miles. I'm going to give them a buzz when I get off in the morning.
