Aftermarket transponder chip (Keys)

Payless keys in New York is selling this transponder chip for $80. They claim it's compatible with the Bentley Continental GT. Obviously it has to be installed in a used key fob and adapted to a new car.

Any thoughts?

Hello 1e,
I spoke with Alex at PL NY, sorry to say it was a little confusing to have dialogue with him, I asked him if this "PCF7942" would work with 2005 doors handles as the the keyless entry by just touching the door handle, or is it that one would have to push the unlock button on the FOB as like the setup he was doing over a year ago, where as he was putting Audi guts in the Bentley FOB, I did not get a clear answer, I then went on to ask about this same PCF 7942 working for the 2006 forward as to the push button start, again he was unclear, only stating that "if the car came with those items as options and were installed, they should work, BUT if the car does not have these items it will not work", I said ofcourse Alex, if not installed I don't expect them to magically appear and function, so he could not give a definitive answer, only saying "it should work", maybe others will have luck talking with him.

BUT, one thing stuck out to me, the PCF # sounded right, but not fully as I had a different number in my head, that being "PCF 7943A", so I took my old key and guts out of the drawer and shot some pictures for you all, you will see they look similar, but the 7942 seems to be missing some chips.....

I spoke with Alex as well, he is evasive. However, he indicated that the Ross Tech vcds is not sufficient to adapt his transponder chip. He told me that they have to program the chip first and then adapte it to the Kessy ecu. He requested I send in my Keasy unit. Evidently there is more to this chip than just buying it and adapting it. Agreed losing the keyless entry on a 05 is not my cup of tea.

I am interested in a second virgin transponder key. My location is ridiculously far from a dealer. Regrettably Scudera and Flying Spares are unable to sell transponder keys.

If the second key didn't have full function but could start the vehicle, wonderful. Still not confident about DIY adaptation of the attached transponder.

I disassembled an Audi transponder key and an old 2005 Continental transponder key. The transponder chips in each of these units was the 7943a chip. One can buy virgin 7943 chips. The big question is, simply uninstalling the old chip and installing the new chip, will this virginize the unit. I'll bet that there is additional chip coding?
