Boot switch inop

Sorry to be flooding with questions, I have searched the forum and read the manual...I suspect that this is a setting error, not a mechanical error.

When I took delivery of the car, the trunk/boot switch worked fine.

Now, I can open the trunk from the door switch, but not the boot switch.

I did hit "global close" a couple of drives ago with the windows open, it didn't do anything. Was driving and windows stayed down. I know this "locks the boot", is it possible the boot is still locked? No fault code, but I don't know the boot motor is sensed by the computer. well, the motor works fine, for auto-latch.

I've tried opening it from the door, then at full open, hitting the boot switch which is supposed to reset everything, nothing happened. I read that on this forum.

The only thing I haven't tried is opening it with the key fob, I just realized that.

Does this thing lock and have to be unlocked?

The old open the trunk with the key fob trick. I've never been able to do it and no one else has. The bad news is Bentley didn't put a keyed access to the boot. This becomes particularly interesting when the batteries go flat.

Welcome to the world of Bentley.

Ha. That's why I haven't opened it with the key fob. Speaking of which, I only have one and I know I have to spend the $1k to get another just in case, imagine if I lost the remaining one.

Still am puzzled why the boot doesn't open from the switch

With your key fob in your hand. Go go to the back of the car. Press the B on the boot lid. The key fob has a chip in it that signals to the keyless boot unlock system.

The other thing check your owner's manual for the fuse location for the boot opening circuit.

Maybe I misunderstood you I was thinking you wanted to try using a key.

Yoghurtshotgun is infamous around these parts
Not sure what model you have but I have 2005 GT and when I got it the fuel door release and boot switch wouldn't work on the door console all windows worked fine.so after looking around I found the pheaton had a similar console and switches so I bought one removed the circuit board and dropped it in the Bentley's.it fitted perfectly now I have working windows boot and fuel cap 👍

Welcome to the world of Bentley.
That is why there is a emergency release lever behind the right rear seat back.

i know you didn’t mean this, but it looks like you bought a Phaeton and pulled a panel for your Bentley. Some of these guys can afford to do that, I cracked up.

per usual, advice from our expert was spot-on, I held the key near the trunk lock and it worked like a charm.

Thanks! I’m glad I don’t have to buy a Phaeton
