First, to finish removing the bootlid carpet, you need to remove the single screw up inside the grip handle, pictures added.
As to the spoiler cables/metal tubes, and the drain funnels being dislodged from their mounting locations, you will need to follow the work performed in the link below, otherwise, if you fail to correct the situation with the spoiler tubes and their being secured in place, it will just rip the drain funnels off again, as the tubes/cables run through said funnels.
See my post (#7) for the great fix of securing spoiler tubes, this fix was supplied by @flyc2c, and It has yet to fail, I have put the spoiler up and down numerous times without issue.
In the same post, you will see how I used blue silicone/sealant to hold the funnel in place.
Update on my repairs.
After hunting for the screw behind the pull handle for an hour!!!, I finally removed the panel on the underside of the boot. Purchased a 4 piece trim removal tool set from Amazon....dog chewed one before I'd even used it! I wasn't sure if the clips are supposed to slide off their plastic holder and stay attached to the metal of the boot for removal later, or stay fixed to the plastic bit glued to the material. Seems like it's a mix of the two. I only pulled one plastic bit off, which I can re-glue, but 3 are missing, as per the pic. Are they generic or specific to Bentley? Where can I pick them up from?
Assume you attach all the metal springs (spent 30 mins looking for one on my gravel drive...will be more careful next time) to the plastic holders before pushing the panel back on.
Broke 1, 3 missing. Was definitely time to sort the left drain out.
Detached the hose and cleaned out the blocked left drain. Glued and siliconed (first time doing this) the left plastic 'funnel'. Siliconed the right one for good measure.
Oiled the spoiler mechanism so I could move it by hand. Removed spoiler motor and broken plastic bits. Did the bent length of wire and clamps fix. It worked!!!! My fist repair on the car. I'm sou proud of myself and so very grateful to all of you that have gone before me and taken the time to post your learnings. I'm no mechanic, so if I can do this, so can you.
OK, so not the best with the silicone gun, but it will do the trick.
I still can't find the drain hole under the spoiler....but for now they both work.
Now, should I take on the boot button release fix whilst I'm here? Taking that mechanism apart and squeezing the the top of the contacts back together. ....I'm worried about not getting it all back together. The 'B' and Wings are permanently on show.
Trip booked into the garage next week for Vac lines repair. Pump more or less on all the time. Late 06 , so not engine out job. Plan is to cut off the splits and fix with extra tubing and clamps. If there is a break in the line that is in front of the bulk head, is the recommendation now to bypass it with a new line?
Finally, think of me....I'm spending the next 2 days on a road trip with my 17 y/o son visiting Universities. 700 miles in a 3 cylinder Ford Fiesta, with his first time driving on the Motorway. Only similarity with the GT is that both cars are black and have 4 wheels. Andy
One of the recommendations was to push the weed wacker string up from the discharge point on the trunk lid edge near the license plate and see where it comes out by the spoiler. I am going to try this method as well.
@Seasider_Pow ,
You will not see the drain hole under the spoiler, as the the hole is the funnel itself that you put back in place, you can see from my pics with the spoiler and mechanism removed, that opening on each side is where the water goes into the bootlid, which then goes to the funnels.
