Cluster issue

Hi sorry to bump this old thread! I just changed the lcd on my GT 2005. However, the same problem with the new lcd😫. Now couple of Qs, how can one find out what other part relates to the LCD on the mother board as I am sure it’s one of those plastic resistors has failed or dry solder. Also can I buy a secondhand cluster from a later GT etc and swap over? Also would I need to get it coded?
