Bentayga Vs Lamborghini Urus

Hi all, I’m currently deciding on ordering the Lamborghini urus or the Bentley bentayga. I know they are two different vehicles but I would get the w12 if I went with Bentley. I would also most likely wait for the updated dash on the 2021 model. I currently have a Mercedes gls 63 which I would trade in. I wanted to find out if anyone either had both or decided on getting one vs the other. I love luxury but I also love performance but I’m worried that the urus might not be comfortable for every day driving Every day. . I do plan on getting the next generation aventador and this would be by daily.

Arrange a demo / loan car .
If you are serious the dealer will qualify you .

Subjective decision that each person in a 50/50 coin toss will have a different answer .
How ever once behind the wheel they are so different you should be able to differentiate.

For me Urus .

I test drove both twice actually and really enjoyed them. However, that’s not long enough to really tell. I’m going to take your advice and arrange something for a weekend. Their are luxury rentals that I can get that are not far from me. This should give me an answer. I have a feeling I’m going to be leaning towards the 2021 bentayga

Bentley Bentayga is way ahead you still going to have performance but all the luxury & you can drive it everyday, with the Lamborghini nooooo its not an everyday car one has to work hard yes lots of fun, air-con is rubbish if it has air-can with or without you going to boil in the cabin, any high performance super car & yes super car are not for everyday drive, The merc you have is fine car ... you should ask the Lamborghini dealership to let you have one for a weekend, hope I'm not putting you off a super car I've had a few ...
thats my biggest fear. Thinking I’ll keep the SUV for luxury and have a super car to go with it down the road.

Bentley Bentayga almost no one pays MSRP unless they custom order. Lots of them sitting on dealer lots. The Urus right now is in demand but it could be a year or two until initial demand is met. I haven't sat in either personally, but it depends if you need 4 or 5 seats. If you need 5 Bentayga is the only option but I would get the V8 which is similar to the Urus's aside from some tuning. The Bentayga I personally find ugly and the interior aside from the leather looks a step below the Q7. Now if Bentley were to apply the design language of the new Contintental GT to the Bentayga I might change my tune. Some of the initial QC issues I've seen on the Bentayga Hopefully have been resolved like the wind noise issues. I like to look at the Technical service bulletins to see what's wrong along with pulling Carfax reports for multiple vehicles that are higher mileage to see what's going wrong. The Urus isn't my cup of tea either to be frank the front looks a lot better partially blacked out instead of painted body color with that webbing like design to my eyes. Just don't get a yellow one and drive it in NYC people will try to hail it as a NYC cab. I've heard this happening second hand to someone and they immediately changed it out for another Urus.

Also I'm all for the suggestion of paying 2-3K to rent it for a day and put some miles on it. Preferably in heavy traffic so time used I high but mileage is low. Then you see how comfortable the car is.

Driving in Manhattan you need to watch out for cabs and people opening doors into the side of your car it's not always stop and go. But low speed adaptive cruise control that can come to a complete stop is great for traffic.

it would probably be custom ordered unless I find one I like. It would 100 percent be the face lifted one and I’m hoping they put the dash of the flying spur/ GT In the new one. My feeling on the urus is after a few hours it might get rough in NY For a daily.

If he's waiting a year or two for the Bentayga refresh I'd argue he may be better off if it's in budget to get a CPO Cullinan if he wants the ultimate quiet ride and comfort. Or even a CPO Ghost if he would consider it.

I'd wait for the next Gen V8 S personally. Not sure if I'd pay for the sports exhaust due to new European noise laws and instead get a aftermarket system with switchable valves.

When is the V8 S due out ...
I'd guess a year from when they started delivering the normal V8 models. In the US we just started getting the new V8 models a month ago. The W12 doesn't even have a eta so Bentley has been dragging their feet.

I’ve been looking at the urus and found msrp if ordered and about $3500 off if in the lot. I didn’t counter that was what dealers in CA and NV offered initially.

I personally think the Bentayga is ugly and didn’t if cross my mind to look at it.

That 3500 might be all you get since the urus is in demand.

as much as I like the ghost, I prefer being a little higher up. The Cullinan has a beautiful inside, but I’m not a fan of the exterior. Now, I’m not saying the bentayga is winning any awards for its looks but I like it a little more. Plus the handling is better.
