Need Infotainment system pinout details
2007 Continental GT, Bought the car in December 2020 and the CD player and phone never worked. Was thinking of installing a GROM bluetooth/USB adapter so to start I pulled the CD player out and found an additional connector and microphone cable behind it - this is probably for an aftermarket bluetooth/aux device, but the device itself was gone. The wires ran to the infotainment unit so I pulled that to see where the wires led. When removing the unit there were only 3 connectors to remove: 1 green and 2 black and the middle connector in the stack of 3 was missing - it has 8 pins. After removing some electrical tape I found a bunch of cut wires, so I'm guessing whenever they were wiring in the aux device someone decided to cut the connector off - why people would do this mystifies me ! I have not yet traced all the cut wires but I believe some if not all go the CD connector in the glove box. I've attached a few pics to show all this.
I'm not really interested in getting the CD player working but what I would like to do is install the GROM unit using the existing wiring connector and to do so I need the pinout wiring diagram for this 8 pin connector. Can anybody provide the wiring diagram for this connector ? All comments and suggestions are welcome !

That's the ISO speaker plug it looks like:

You should be able to work out what needs to go where quite simply although Johnny will probably have the colours!

Sorry to interject, but from memory the middle of the three connectors on the ZAB (Head Unit) isn't used.
They're certainly not speaker connections because the audio amplifier, rather than the ZAB, drives the speakers.
I've installed a VW compatible version of the Grom BT3 Bluetooth adapter, which comes with an appropriate plug and simply connects in place of the CD Changer.

Good point, sir. Well made
This might be more useful. I wonder why they even have the speaker outputs? I assume the ZAB is used elsewhere

Yes, the ZAB is common to the Phaeton, albeit with a slightly different bezel.
This Self Study Programme document for the Phaeton http://www.volkspage.net/technik/ssp/ssp/SSP_274.pdf suggests that the missing connector is indeed used for speakers as per the ISO standard.
None of which helps the OP with his cut wires...

Thanks everyone, this is great ! So my cut wires must be from the CDC portion of connector C. I will check the wire colours tonight to confirm.
With the exception of a ground connection, all the other connections between the ZAB and the CD Changer come out of the ZAB on the 20 way connector X03672 (it's the one with the curved slot in the plug) which you can see if you google 4B0972643.
it's all working again
So I removed the rogue spliced-in cable, soldered the original cut wires back together and re-connected the CD changer and, after a small glitch whereby the navigation was not working because I forgot to re-connect the optical plug, it's all working perfectly including the CD changer. Now I can get the Grom unit and have Bluetooth and a USB/Aux connection.
Thanks to all ! This forum is fantastic !
