Hi. I live in a market without a Bentley dealer which up until now hasn't been an issue. The owner's manual is in Russian and I need to find out the oil spec for a 2018 Bentayga W12. I've already purchased the correct filter (would have saved a lot if I didn't search for the Bentley issued version. That's a note for next time). I believe Mobil 1 is recommended. Any help much appreciated. Can't find anything concrete online about the engine oil spec.
the spec is 0w40 from mobil 1
don t buy castrol because the way they weight will be different
for me in summer I ran 10w60
thanks. I emailed Bentley and they sent me a copy of the owner’s manual in English. It says you should use Mobil 1 ESP 0W-40 or warranty may be voided. Well I don’t have a warranty anyway so can I use Mobil 1 Ultimate All round Performance 0W-40? The ESP stuff isn’t available where I am.
There is an actual label of recommended oil 0-40W mounted on top of the radiator for those who does not know
Thanks. I’m not where the car is right now only my fiancé is. I’ve asked her a couple of times to pop the hood and check but in the end I gave up. I want to buy the oil first in the main city before heading to where the car is located.
I think I’m quite comfortable with using Mobil 1 0w-40 ultimate all round performance based on the idea that it can’t be that different to the ESP stuff.
Thanks for all the replies. Feedback still welcome of course

On a side note ESP= exhaust system protection. ESP formulated oil is further refined and has less sulfated ash, phosphorus and sulphur This type of oil is necessary to protect the catalytic converters. The newer catalytic converters are more refined than earlier versions. So in the long run ESP formulation for the newest Bentleys is required.

That's good to know. Thanks. I think I will use the all round performance stuff this time and then try and source the ESP for the next oil change. The car doesn't get used that much. Less than 2,000km a year.

That should be fine short-term.
So for researching alternatives to Mobile 1. Look for a low "SAP" synthetic 0w 40. Dextros 2 designation is General Motors certification for the same "ESP"low SAP oil. type.
