Spacers for flush fitment

Put some 25mm spacers on the rear and 20mm on the front, with ET41 9.5" wheels. (Both spacers are H&R Trak+ DRA type - these bolt to the rotor/hub with bolts that come with the spacers and the stock wheel bolts are used to mount the wheel to these spacers.) No rubbing so far, and I did some hard braking and turns, so seems OK with the recommended 275/35/20 tires. No wobble or anything, but I was only able to go 60-70mph around town, so we'll see how they do on the highway.

Will probably bring the rear down another 1/3" but keeping the front where it is so that I can go in/out of my steep driveway without the ridiculously low aftermarket front bumper lip scraping. Pretty darn close to flush and glad to take some pictures with a straight edge against the fender, if anyone needs.

The wider 1.5" front and 2" rear track also seem to provide the car with some added cornering stability.

Please excuse the missing bolt covers, as I have to retighten the wheel and spacer bolts after 60 miles.

Not sure if my math is right, but, if we factor in that the wheels are ET 41mm and 20 and 25mm spacers were used, a 20x9.5 wheel with offsets of 21mm and 16mm (and same tire size as above) should give the same fitment.

As an update.... After a 60mm 'shakedown' at highway speeds, I am getting a vibration in the steering wheel at 65-75mph. A bit more vibration on long sweepers going right and a bit less when going left, so wondering if a ball joint or other is at play. Nothing in the pedals.

Unfortunately for me, the vibration ruins the 'Bentley glide' I love so much at typical highway speeds, so a dealbreaker unless I can get this sorted. Am hopeful though as it seems to be on the driver's front.. I also had new tires mounted and balanced, so will have to check that too, but assuming I can rule this out because fo the 'directionality' of the vibration. Perhaps a trip to the alignment rack might help to identify if there's any loose components. Per one installer, there may be a tiny amount of play between the rotor and spacer hub (in this case a hub adapter, really) mounts due to corrosion that's been sanded off and temporarily shimming with .02 copper strips during the install seems to do the trick, so perhaps I'll start there and see if things get better.

Open to any and all suggestions.

Also, just so folks know this will extend beyond the inner fender, below are some pics. For those folks wanting clearance here, which would be good insurance if the air struts fail, this offset is too 'extreme'. For the front, the fattest part of the tire is about 1mm shy of the outer fender surface. Looks more than 1mm in the picture, but the shadows are playing tricks here.

Front clearance

For the rear, the fattest part of the tire is actually about 1mm proud of the outside surface of the fender.

Happy to report back that it's now fixed and all's well with the world again, lol. Truly relieved to have that Bentley ride back again for highway speeds, because I like the look much better with the spacers.

Root cause is undetermined other than perhaps installer (me) error, but reading online it seems a lot of folks had luck with removing, re-cleaning, reseating and also torquing down in increments and torquing wheels while still raised.

So..., I removed, cleaned the hub, spacer and wheel again with a red 3m pad, hand seated the hub bolts bolts, and then torqued down in increments of 20 ft/lbs starting at 40 and ending at 110 in the star pattern. Installed the wheels in a similar manner before putting back down on the ground.

This seems to have done the trick.

That's Cypress Green Metallic. Kind of a chameleon, looks grey or even bronze in some light and various shades of green depending on the light.

Just need some side skirts to even out the side profile with the front bumper, then I'm calling this one done.

Yep,I have the same color. Was looking for something different as I didn’t want the typical black, grey or white car. Definitely didn’t want red! Was looking for blue but man they were like unicorns. Finally seen the green one and hurried up and flew to pick it up.

Lol, dark blue metallic was my first choice and I hear you on finding one. Bought the first decent color pristine example I found at a great price that had the interior and option combos I wanted. I have to admit, it wasn't my first choice, but has grown on me.

Mine is the Thunder Metallic. I really love the way it looks blue or silver depending on the light. Curiously it seems it was only available for a couple years. I really like the look of the car with the spacers, where did you get them?

That's a gorgeous color EJag66. Saw your car in the detailing post and it's a looker! (like the Jag poster too, )

I identified which ones to buy here: https://trakplus.com/application and opted specifically for the DRA type, which come in 20mm and up.

Chose these because they are TUV approved/German made, magnesium/alum alloy (should make the problem of 'welding' onto the hub a non issue, I'm hoping) and are hub adapters instead of just spacers (meaning they bolt to the rotor/hub assembly with shortened head bolts then the wheels bolt to them). The bolts that come with it to mount it to the hub are also made if this lightweight alloy and remind me of the lug nuts on my FUCHS alloys as they are very light. The spacers themselves feel almost plastic light and very hard, also reminding me of real mag wheels in feel and heft.

Then purchased from ProPartsUSA.com and cost was about $250 shipped for the 4 after coupons, so a relatively inexpensive modification to play around with.
