So this morning had an odd issue, my radio and buttons on the center console didn't power on. I checked fuses and all looked good but next startup they started working. I noticed while driving my car refuses to go into Sports Mode. Seems hesitant to want to go into manual shift mode but that seems to work. Any idea why it would stop going into Sport mode?

 

Hi Dreadnaught, great name btw, I'm new here but keen to help. Have you checked both batteries? From all of my recent research electrical problems that don't make a lot of sense seem to be firmly rooted in that area.

Do you have any issues with the shifter gate dust cover, and it's magnets ?

So the cover is gone, I have the replacement but I just havent had a chance to install it. I am hoping a penny or something fell in there and i jamming it up.

if the dust cover is damaged, as in broken in half, with the front portion stuck up in the slider section, and the same for the rear portion, stuck in the slider towards the rear, then the magnets can not do their job of of sport mode, or proper manual shifting.

Please be sure when you replace the cover, that you make sure that the white piece shown in my pictures is properly seated on the shifter gate housing, my second hand shifter assembly had the cover brake after a few test drives during my rebuild, it would click every once in a while, and other times smooth, turned out that the white piece was hitting and catching the bottom of the cover.

Thanks for the photos. Last time I tied to install it I wasnt able to get the shifter **** off.

 

Got it all sorted out today. Ended up being my side mirror **** broke and feel behind the shifter but now the cover boot is done as well. Thanks for the help.
