2010 Supersports rough idle
2010 Supersports rough idle
I have ross-tech diagnostics.
Got exhaust temp probe bank 1 code and misfires all of the sudden.
Spliced in new temp probe head unit (the probe itself looked impossible to remove.)
Exhaust temp probe code went away and never returned. But massifiers and check engine light are still on.
Car runs like crap.
Only code I am getting now is 006435 please check DTC memory of ECU #2.
Do I actually need to rip out the probe itself from the exhaust? Having trouble with this one since there are no more exhaust temp codes.....
FYI 0 vacuum leaks. lines have been replaced.
Thanks!

The exhaust temperature sensor code is a separate issue regarding the misfire condition. The exhaust temperature sensor regulates the exhaust when the turbos are spooling. The sensor determines if a temperature threshold is exceeded and retards the ignition to protect catalytic converters and engine.
Regarding misfires I'd be looking for/at vacume leaks, plugs and coils and maf sensors to start. Vacume leaks are a common issue with the w12.

Thank you,
I figured exhaust temp probe probably is not contributing to the misfires since car idled fine when the initial exhaust temp probe code popped up.
Car has all new spark plugs, new coils and 0 vacuum leaks (lines replaced and smoke tested). This is less than 1k miles ago.
MAF sensor could be the issue I guess, what doesn't make sense to me is that only the 006435 please check DTC memory of ECU #2 code is showing, any clues on what it's pointing to?
Check engine comes on immediately after clearing the codes and starts to flash while driving. Smells very rich.

Okay the code is requiring a check of the bank 2 ecu, address is 011. There is a stored code which needs to be recovered. The current code is a request to check the other ecu. Best do an online search of Ross Tech to open the engine address 011...it's been a while since I had to do the same.

@957Turbo ,
As 1eapplebaum stated, l check the fault codes stored in ECU number 2, by your codes posted, I take it that you are not using the Ross-Tech VCDS or a ODIS VAS 5054, a generic scanner will not help you here.

Thank you Johnny,
I am using Ross-Tech VCDS HEX-V2. Here is the stupid thing that happened today, so I scanned it yet again with ross-tech scanner and same vague code I mentioned before came up.
For ****s and giggles I decided to scan the car with my old OBD-2 generic scanner that I used before purchasing ross-tech.
Guess what, got the codes I needed with clear as day explanation, codes P0300, P0307, P0302 Misfires on cyl. 2, 7 and a random misfire detected.
WTH, why did I spend $200 on ross tech haha?
Anyway is it safe to assume 2 of my newly installed NGK coils bit the dust?
Cheers!
Ed

With the Ross-Tech, are you using the scan all, or did you go directly into address 11 for the slave ECU ?
How did you make out ?

Waiting for the 2 coils to arrive and will have to pull the intake manifold again to replace the 2 bad ones...
I am just trying to clarify that you went into both "address 01" and "address 11", versus just "address 01", as 01 is the master ECU, and 11 is the slave ECU, you would scan both addresses, as the master ECU (01) takes care of bank 1, being cylinders 1-6, whereas the slave ECU (11) takes care of cylinders 7-12.
