Parking brake control module connector removal.

Hi all.
I'm chasing a parking brake control module fault and want to remove the module off the car to inspect but I can't seem to find the correct way to remove the conector.
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Frank.

I also have a bad left side brake motor and possibly seized stiff caliper .

Hello @Frank ( Sunnyside ) ,
To release the connector, you pull the handle to slide it out, then lift it off.

Yes @@Johnny Hotspur GT is a star. His wealth of information is huge.
I have spoken to a few Main Dealer techs and they admit that understanding some of the functions on modern Bentley including 2004 cars is almost impossible to grasp.

You wouldn't happen to know if a used EPB module is plug and play or do they need dealer coding.
Same question for the Battery Management charging module. Which my VAS just says module fault. Change module. 🤬
Thanks
Frank👍

Thanks Johnny

Have you ever replaced a module with another used module. Ie plug and play or require coding.
My charging module Battery Management module is faulty. VAS says replace module.
Can you just plug them in or coding required?
Frank🤔

Hi @Frank ( Sunnyside ) ,
On both modules, just be sure to get the same exact part number/revision letter, for the brake and battery modules nothing as to coding should be required, just plug and play, I have swapped both in my GT just for testing, without issue.

One thing to point out though, these faults are not at the address of the "Battery Charger - 71" itself, are you able to connect to address 71 for the charger directly, or 53 for the parking brake module, as the faults you did show for the battery charger are showing up in 02-transmission, 05-KESSY, and 19- can-bus, so it makes me wonder, have you cleared these faults in each module separately, then see if they reappear ?

And the parking brake.

It wasn't until I attempted to open and close the parking brake using the change pad function that I got the System Function test fault.
I managed to open and close the brake a first time but on the second attempt it went all hormonal on me🤔

Good morning @Frank ( Sunnyside ) ,

For the brake fault, please check the 30 amp fuse in the boot, number 30, it is for the left side parking brake motor, being that the fault appeared after your opening and closing of the calipers, the left may have been sticky, therefore drawing to much amperage and blew the fuse.
Also check said caliper motor for any cracks.

.
As to the battery charger module fault, please check all fuses and relays in the boot as shown below.

.

Thanks Johnny.
Fuses OK however haven't checked the relays atm. Sunday lunch with family today. So will check relays tomorrow.
I haven't checked the wiring and component diagram for the relays to see if they are standard relays. If they are standard, testing them will be routine work.
I will post back tomorrow.
For now....thanks 👍

As to connecting to module 53 parking brake here is the vas page

And here is the charger module 71

That's all I can get for charger??
I'm nor sure if the charger module is the same as Battery monitoring control module J367.
There are a few modules that can't communicate with J367.
Here are a few.

I thought I might be able to read the module code incase it was corrupted but it can't even read that?
