Hi Guys, I'm new here and I'm after a bit of advice, I am currently looking at a Continental Flying Spur W12 Speed, it's a 2012 model with the RNS810 entertainment system in it. The question is what is missing from the left of the CD autochanger in the photo? It looks like something should slot in there. Thanks in advance for any help
nothing is missing, you have additional box for stuff and on the right you have an mdi interface.
it is vw feature that you can connect a lot of stuff like ipod, mem-stick with music in folders, so you can navigate thru this via your infotainment just like mp3 player.
You might need to source an MMI cable for whatever device you’ll be using with the system (iPod, USB stick etc), like the one below:
Also, if I’m not mistaken, that free USB socket in the glovebox could well be for an aftermarket CarPlay kit. Ask the owner if he can shed any light on this.
Well @DanW12 I asked the current owner if they knew what the USB cable was for and they said they didn't have a clue, it was there when they bought the car so couldn't share any light on it. Anyway, I bought the car and have just been going through some things and had a closer look at the cable and it has a label on saying connect phone, so I plugged the phone in and it does have an aftermarket Apple Carplay system installed so you were right! Thanks again, you have actually saved me some money as I was pricing aftermarket Apple Carplay systems up.
