I don't personally have any plans to purchase (for the time being at least) but I know someone that is giving away their spot. The car will be sold for MSRP, guaranteed to be delivered March. I believe the car is alpine white but still time to decide on the color.

Definitely, when the DCT/DSG type gearbox comes out ! So that's one more year...
We already have the 6-speed models here and they don't sell because of the punishment of a clutch in traffic and low resale values..

Clubber, I can't believe you don't use pics of your Z4 as your avatar. Don't you have an ultra-clean black on red car with hardtop and type 108 wheels? I remember the screen name from the late Z4um...
As for me, nah on the new M3. I think we're reaching a performance plateau in the horsepower wars, where the cars are posting crazy numbers but aren't really all that much faster. It's like with computer CPUs where the difference between a few 100Mhz is touted as great, but without software telling you the chip was faster you'd never know. At 60mph you're doing 1 mile/5280feet a minute, or 88 feet/second, so 8.8 feet every 10th-second. A nice, new $80k M3 would get me to 60 about .3secs ahead of my mildly modded M Coupe, or 26.4 feet. Take the $40k price difference divided by 3 tenths equals about $13,000/.1sec, or $1500/foot. It's not that serious.
(Going to my M Coupe from my Z4 2.5i was $20k to shave off 1.5secs = $1300/.1sec, $15/ft - 10x the performance/dollar.

At 60mph you're doing 3 feet every 10th-second, so a nice, new $80k M3 would get me to 60 about 9 feet ahead of my mildly modded M Coupe. Take the $40k price difference divided by 3 tenths equals about $13,000/.1sec, or $4400/foot. It's not that serious.

A bad perspective - I used feet, should have been yards, and of course the above assumes linear acceleration for both cars. I'll edit the original post but it still isn't mathematically sound.
