I was just driving home from wawa. Live in flemington, NJ. I saw a silver four door brandy new m3 at the light on 202.

I was wondering how this is possible because I thought they weren't out yet.

I am positive it was the new m3 and not a modified 335...

Well it happened!

 

The e90, e92 M3s look no better than a regular 335. I am very disappointed.

BMW NA Headquarters are in New Jersey and they have offices in NYC. You will often see many new cars that haven't hit the market yet, driving around. The engineers and marketing guys get to take them home and run tests on them.

About 1year (give or take a couple of months) before the M6 came out on sale here, I saw one driving around NYC. I was driving a Z8 in early March late february (I am crazy so I had the top down too), I saw an Interlagos blue 6 series that looked like an M6. I couldn't believe it, so I caught up, and to my surprise it was an M6 with Manufacturer plates on it. We ended up racing up 10th AVE to 58ST from 40th. Obviously had a lot more power. I followed the guy to his garage by the Hudson hotel. I spoke to him, and he told me it was a test vehicle. He was working on it's Bluetooth and Navi system. Asked if he could borrow the Z8 to test a new BlueTooth module for it. Nice guy.

That is why you saw the M3 driving around.
